Title: Beagle2 probe found 'intact' on Mars
Post by: Data on January 16, 2015, 12:57:37 PM
QuoteThe missing Mars robot Beagle2 has been found on the surface of the Red Planet, apparently intact.

High-resolution images taken from orbit have identified its landing location, and it looks to be in one piece.

It looks like a failure to deploy the solar panels completely was the cause of it to not communicate as all the antenna etc. were underneath the solar panels.

SO close to being a total success, but it has helped subsequent missions in so many ways it could never be judged to have been a failure.

If only Colin Pillenger was still alive to see just how close he came with Beagle2
