Or more properly named "P/2008 R1 (Garradd (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gordon_Garradd))". Needs a better name as this guy has found at least 3.
Anyway, it is only visible with a medium to large scope at the mo. but reaches perihelion on 2013, Jan 25th.
Not sure of its current magnitude but it should get to mag 6. That's just about visible with the naked eye with very dark skies. i.e. not England :'( Bins or any scope will show it.
It has just past M71 (29th Aug 2011). There's a video here (http://www.spaceweather.com/) but it's a link to a main page that changes daily.
Hoping for a new moon and clear skies around perihelion time.
How the heck did I miss this post? I'll be sure to keep track of this. Maybe I'll get a good viewing of it in the coming months. :)
