QuoteA striking image showing the ghost of the Big Bang has been captured by a new space telescope.

The Planck satellite was launched by the European Space Agency in May 2009 to study the early universe.

It is designed to scan the sky with instruments sensitive to nine different bands of normally invisible microwave light.

Amazing  :o, what an age we live in, just to think of all the facts that are being uncovered by science and technology. Nice find Freddy :D

Planck is the next in a line of satellites and other measuring devices starting with a weird noise in an aeriel in the 1960s.

The first satellite was COBE then WMAP and now Planck.

The next one I think is Herschel. Not sure.

Nice find BTW Freddy. Not seen the magnetic-temperature map of the Universe in that detail (Planck), must be new data released.

Just saw the pics on internet TV,  I've been using the computer and Hulu.com for watching TV and movies.  I was watching 3D Sun, it's a series of films about work being done for the space effort and one film showed the images you put in.  I didn't realize how much work was still being done until I started watching the films.
The link is http://www.hulu.com/tv,  This may work also http://www.hulu.com/watch/81732/3d-sun.   I did a search for 3D Sun and got that film and some recomended films, not as many as I had watched earlier, it would be a matter of finding them.

Your links only work in USA, well not in UK anyway  >:(

Unfortunate, lots of good films on various things.  I do recall seeing some of the internet sites did restrict viewing areas.  Get the feeling you would have liked it.

We need to learn how to spoof IP addresses..  :P

Simple in principal. Setup a proxy server in the country you want to view.

This would mean Carl2 would have to set it up. And we'd use his bandwidth.

My mate watches iPlayer via his home proxy around the world.
