So the new Zoe has a 52kWh battery, impressive for such a small car. It could be a viable car for many more people, nicer interior than other Zoe models too.

Not much has changed for my point of view.

I'm not in the market for another car but will be soon : 1-2 years. This is the biggest reason for not buying electric (any car at all).

The second biggest is choice. The only practical and affordable car is the Leaf (10k). I don't want to drive around in a car named Zoe (9k & French) and I don't really like the BMW i3 (15k). 3 year old prices

Third is desirability. As above and you can't get a model 3 Tesla, yet. The S and X are ok but a little large for my taste. The fully electric Golf GTE is just out at £31k, same price as a GTi (33k) and the R at 36k. I could get a 3 year old R for a lot less than that. New prices marked. 2016 R about 20k

My budget is more like 5k + loan. Hmm.

Yeah but Snowy, look how far we have come in such a short space of time, when I started this thread most people thought I was mad to even consider an EV, now people are starting to want them and seriously consider them for their next car, I call that a win win  8)

Fair point. The electric revolution has started.

Here are the latest UK figures of new cars.

Total % sales in brackets for year to date

Diesel down 20% on year and month. (27%)
Petrol static with main share (66.2%)
BEV up 70%/158% on year/month, where the market is looking strong (1%)
PHEV down 32%/50% people are really going off of these (1.2%)
HEV up 19%/34%, still the market leader at (4%)
MHEV are the new kids on the block. Not seen these before. Combined fuel (0.6%)

Some good figurers from that link, things are changing  :)

Still pretty early days for the used BEV market, I would think that in a couple of years prices will come down and we should start to see more choice in used cars.

We are seeing quite a lot of new SUV BEV's coming to the market, it's not a vehicle for me but plenty of people would go for them. We have seen a few of them already in this thread but we haven't seen the MG ZS EV yet, so here it is.

Nice to get to see the car they are talking about which differs from the EV News Daily, sounds like a pretty good car with a nice price but being new it is out of my price range.
