Angkor Wat has always fascinated me. Often called "The Forbidden City", and populated these days by several species of primates, it has the feel of a deeply mystic, spiritual place, and I'd love to visit it some day.

It's safer than visiting Baghdad, but not as safe as visiting NYC. At least that's my best guess.

Apart from the copious amount of landmines left behind yes 

Right, so pack a metal detector... should be fun..

They're probably made of plastic parts these days so a metal detector is useless.

Maybe I will wait until they get Google Earth on Oculus Rift 

The Cambodian civil war went on around the same time as the Vietnam war, so plastic mines weren't available (or even possible) back then.

The ever efficient Germans got round this in WW2 by using wooden mines.........

Good point about the wood thing, but I don't know if the Cambodians used them.
