Data

I've found it, it was your first post in Random Music vids Dave.

Arrogant Worms - Carrot Juice is Murder

To put it in the common vernacular, "BRILLIANT!" :)

Here's one of my all time favorites:

DaveMorton

Wow! My first post? I hadn't noticed. :D

Well done, Data! I promise not to be so obscure next time (the time after that? We'll see... ;) )
Safe, Reliable Insanity, Since 1961!

Freddy

This was a great thread I am bringing back five years later  ;D

Can you work out the song and band from these lines ?

They put a hot wire to my head
'Cause of the things I did and said
They made these feelings go away
Model citizen in every way

DaveMorton

I used to love this thread, actually. I'm grateful that you brought it back. :)

I don't have a proper guess right now. The lyrics sound sooooo familiar, but nothing comes to mind, and I'm not ready to Google it yet. Lemme think on it a bit, and see if something shakes the dust off my RAM.

Sure thing Dave. I reckon if Data sees it he might beat you.

DaveMorton

Ended up having to Google it, and I'm sure that I've never heard the song before, let alone the performer. I won't give it away, since I essentially cheated, but if everyone else has to cheat, then I win because I reported first. :P :D

Kidding, of course. ;)

This was a great thread, I agree  :)

I could be wrong or I could be right, no actually I'm 100% sure about this one and I will Rise to the occasion. It also gives me a chance to post my favourite PIL song.

Thanks Freddy

DaveMorton

Yes, that's what I found as well, though a different video. Not sure I like it all that much, but it's not a bad song, really. It's just my cup of tea. :)

I forgot about this thread. Continuation of the PIL / John Lydon theme then.

How about...

No one can sing
Quite like Smokey, Smokey Robinson
Wailin' and skankin' to Bob Marley
Reggae's expanding with Sly and Robbie

"I cannot remember the books I've read any more than the meals I have eaten; even so, they have made me."

Ralph Waldo Emerson

Freddy

Well done Data, I thought that you would get it.

@Dave, no he's not everyone's cup of tea to be fair.

@Snowy, that's a tough one, hmm  :scratch-head:

Data

Took me a little while but I got there Snowy

Tom Tom Club - Genius of Love

Found this live video of them done 4 years ago, seems like they are still going, really like Tom Tom Club  8)

Freddy

Well done Data, I would never have got that.

Winner does the next one I think it was, take it away :)

OK try this, shouldn't be too hard:

You keep me running round and round,
Well that's alright with me,
Up and down, I'm up the wall,
I'm up the bloody tree.

EDIT:
This is just some lyrics, it is absolutely not how I feel about any of our members, just incase anyone thought it was.

Snowcrash

Easy peasy. Hardest part was spelling Blancmange.

A Live version of Living on the Ceiling.

"I cannot remember the books I've read any more than the meals I have eaten; even so, they have made me."

Ralph Waldo Emerson

Freddy

Well done Snowy, that was another one I would not have got in a month of Sundays !

I did know the song though when I heard it.
