Data

Dave you are close, late 60's iconic British artist, I'm sure everyone here knows the tune.

Data

It doesn't seem like anyone is going to get this one, which surprises me.

Oh well, I heard it on the radio a few days ago and it took me back to my early childhood.

Just a bit of fun.

The Laughing Gnome | David Bowie

DaveMorton

Sorry, mate. That song doesn't seem to have made it over the pond, as I've never heard it before. From the sound of it, this is a song I would have latched onto  in my younger days. :)
Safe, Reliable Insanity, Since 1961!

I remember David Bowie but don't recall  hearing that song.

I knew the song, but it's such a Godawful song I think I could only bear to listen to part of it

Freddy

Here's one, just two lines to start...

QuoteNo, I can't bear to live my life alone
I grow impatient for a love to call my own

DaveMorton

I know this one, but it seems I've misplaced the memory. Let me wrack the brain a little, and see what shakes loose. :)

Data

Think I know it.

Phil Collins, you can't hurry love  ?

Freddy

Well done Data.   :D

Of course, before Phil there were The Supremes who sang it too. Here's Phil though as I like his version :

DaveMorton

I was drawn more to the older version of the song, actually, but I just wasn't there yet. Well done, Data.

Yes the Supremes were a class act, very much something I grew up with as M&D used to play their songs  8)

Data

I had forgotten that Phil Collins version was a cover, listened to both, I like the gentleness of the original better, I think.

Ok this is a test, has anyone listened to the lyrics of one of the songs I posted in random music vids  :D

QuoteYou were the shadow to my light
Did you feel us
Another start
You fade away
Afraid our aim is out of sight
Wanna see us
Alive

Carl2

Since I always liked Phil I'd have to say I like both versions of the song about equally well.  I found it interesting both dressed like the were dressing for a show rather than wearing ripped jeans.
No Idea what Data is referring to.

Data

Oh well everyone failed the test

Actually I posted these lyrics to give me a reason to post a live version of the song I found.

I may be getting older but I still like a lot of modern music.

Alan Walker - Faded Live (well the singing is :) )

Freddy

Yeah I wouldn't have got that, but I do listen to all the songs in the music thread - you can still find good modern music I agree
