Two things are really annoying me at the moment.

One is 4OD (channel 4 on demand TV). It's crap. This is the message I just sent to them...

4OD has made my PS3 crash twice now. I find trying to skip to where you left off very annoying due to the amount of adverts I have to sit through (about 15 odd). It then errored and went back to the beginning. I tried to watch it on my PC but got cheesed off with going through the crappy adverts again and gave up. The quality via the PS3 is poor and very jerky. Overall this is the worst site it has been my misfortune to use and I will not be back. Why wouldn't I pirate your programmes? It's easier and better quality!

Second is BT. They have added £2 to my bill which is not much. But it's for "not meeting minimum call requirements". I very rarely use the home phone 'cos I use my mobile (cell), I just have the line for the net and incoming calls. I often have no or less than 2 calls per month and have never been charged before for not using the phone. I am incenced at paying any money for not using something. I feel a lengthy phone call coming on. Hopefully it will meet their minimum requirements.

Rant over.

I know what you mean about the 4OD service and player, it is pants, the ITV one isn't much better either. The BBC iPlayer is almost perfect, that's how it should be done.

Best bet Snowy, get some kind of HDD recorder watch it when you like and skip all the adds

BT charging you for not using the phone is shocking but I completely believe that is the kind of thing BT would do and it doesn't surprise me at all.

Charging you... For ~NOT~ using their services... ENOUGH??? :o I call BU11$HIT!

I'll bet they could have just raised the bill that £2 per month for some vague reason, and then served out a "volume discount" to those who made enough calls to qualify, and you probably wouldn't care as much. It's functionally the same thing, but couched in more acceptable terms. Go figure. :)

Diesel

I recall trying to use ITV Player during the recent RWC and catching the right hump with the Ad's and the cutting out, your right Data, the BBC have nearly got it right.

I guess we are a little bit spoilt here now having a Virgin TiVo Box as it cut's all the Ad's automatically from recordings.  :D

As for forking out for something that you are not using, BT can shove that where a Monkey Shoves His Nuts.  :very-angry:
It WILL be fine !...

sybershot

That is ass, charging you for you for not using services that you already pay to have. I'd tell them to take there service and shove it.

edit: looks like Diesel and I are on the same page :D

BT showing that they are feeling the pinch of the Mobile sector.

The problem for BT is that they own the landline network in the UK, however their Mobile division was pared off and privatised (Now known as O2!!) and they have no presence in that sector any more.

{in my best Arthur Dent impression} So that makes it alright, does it? :P

Nope, the main problem with BT is that it is a formally nationalised company that has never really woken up to the fact that it is now a private and in competition with others in the sector and as a result needs to seriously buck up it's customer service.

It's stupidity such as this type of charging that has lost BT a lot of customers already

I left BT years ago and never looked back, not even to wave two fingers at them
