England beat Scotland 16 – 12.  :yahoo:

That's going to hurt the Scotts that dislike the English.

I did actually watch this match, I got to say that Scotland played out of their socks and all credit to them. They deserved to win given their level of play and sheer work rate. England looked set on a loose provided it was was below 8 points. The final result, however, could have been much different had Wilkinson started from the bench !!!.

I've said this before, let young Toby Flood step up to the plate, it is his time now, win, loose or draw. After all, Wilkinson will probably retire from international play at the end of this campaign, let the young man make his mark.
It WILL be fine !...

Here's the link to the knockout stage.

There's gonna be 2 northern and 2 southern teams through then.

And here's a link to the pools final results in case you missed 'em.

Unless I've been asleep for a bit and missed the quarter finals, I thought that eight teams had gone through. :scratch-head: Four Northern  and four Southern hemisphere.

Who could ask for more, a true world cup final between the two hemisphere's, but who will be there.

Personally, I believe the winner of the Wales v Ireland match, although to close to call, deserve to be in the final. For me this will be the match of the tournament and one to watch with neither side giving an inch and playing with their heart and soul.

However, don't write of England just yet, historically we have managed to deliver the goods when required.

My prediction for the final?.

Ireland v New Zealand.
It WILL be fine !...

There are 4 northern and 4 southern teams through. There's gonna be 2 northern and 2 southern teams through to the semis due to the draws.

I was going to vote for France, but I didn't want to be banned from the forums. :P

Quite right too Dave  :mutley:

Only GT40 will be allowed to vote for France without the risk of a ban. ;)

Well I never saw that one coming. :( Unless?, naa, not even the French could be that devious, we saved them from the Germans after all.

Hats off to the Welsh though, I did favour the Irish in this one, but, the best Welsh defence I've seen in a decade saw them off. Well done.

Funny though, how you can stop being English and become British in 80 minutes. ;)
It WILL be fine !...

Congrats and hats off to the Welsh Rugby team, and all who rooted for them! Well done!  :waveJump:

P.S. I finally voted. {snicker!}

Now you beat us you vote!

Well done France, we played rubbish in the first half and you punished us.

Allez le Bleu

My French gramma is bad, there being more than 1 person in the team it should be...

Allez les Bleu.
