Syber,

While I understand your situation as you've related it, your arm / shoulder is likely to get both TIRED and HURTFUL after using the touchscreen.
Think about having your arm suspended in air, reaching forward to manipulate objects on the screen, then repeat this over and over.

I have a 27" touch screen and while cute and quite "Majority Report-Like" for the first few times, I soon understood the much easier route to take was the mouse / tablet / trackball method.

Believe me, your ARM and SHOULDER will get TIRED from holding it out toward the screen.

Mouse / tablet / trackball, your arm will stay comfortably at / near your side.

But, hey this is your life and your fling. Do as you will but sometimes my friend, things are not always as they are cracked up to be.

Good luck either way!

My suggestion follows Art's (Happy B-day, Buddy!), BTW, but let's see about doing a "trial run" first. And you don't even need a touch screen to do this; just a good imagination and a few minutes of your time.

While sitting at your desk, simply reach out and put fingerprints on your current screen, just as if it were a touch screen. Keep this up for about a minute, and see how you feel. Still feel good? Awesome! Rest for about 30 seconds, and then do it again, this time for 2 minutes. Still good? GO for three minutes, then 4, and so on. If you get past even the 2 minute mark, I'll praise you as an Iron Man. :)

Art thanks for your wisdom
I did think of that and one reason why I liked these screens is that they tilted so much. Due to the vast amount of tilt, I was actually thinking if needed I could rest my arm on the frame. I'm not sure if yours tilt as much, but if so are you able to rest elbows on table and forearm on the frame?

Dave I actually tried that previously and made it 2 minutes, no praise needed nor wanted though  :P
However I could not make it to the 3 minute mark on the third round. (Shoulder was screaming too loud at me after 30 seconds in the third round.) one reason I stated I could not get LEAP gesture controller from LeapMotion.com

My newest build here http://www.datahopa.co.uk/forum/full-privileges-board/you-all-heard-it-here-first/msg14120/?topicseen#new does not include the touch screens, but a 3 monitor setup. I am leaning towards that setup mostly at this point of time. Though the touch screens still call to me fairly loudly.

I'll admit freely that those monitors are awesome, but have you ant idea how many trollops you can rent for that sort of money? :o

the touch screens indeed are sweet monitors, but in the end I passed on them. I feel I made the correct decision. Thanks everyone for the help.
