I see Intel 6th gen Skylake has arrived, only in 4 core on Socket-LGA-1151 so far.

http://www.ebuyer.com/store/Components/cat/Processors-Intel/subcat/Socket-LGA-1151-Skylake

It looks to be about 10% more efficient than Haswell and roughly the same performance per MHz, however Skylake should overclock higher.

Z170 motherboard is needed which would also support DDR4 in dual channel memory architecture.

That's about it really, no 6 or 8 core versions with quad channel memory architecture yet.

Ms. Shape says, "I am a talking shape. Thanks to Blender 3D, I can talk like this!" in the video. She was modeled and animation rendered in the open source 3D graphics and animation software, Blender version 2.70.

And, for her voice... Festival, a general speech synthesis system developed at Centre for Speech Technology Research at the University of Edinburgh was used.

All made possible through Linux.

I've just watched BBC Horizon.

Are Video Games Really That Bad?

It turns out that gaming is good for you, it can improve the brain by up to 30%, improving memory, reaction times, cognitive ability and coordination. Tests showed some very positive results in the elderly as well.

Doctors are now thinking of using games instead of medication for some conditions.

I began looking into using a 5820 CPU and thought of liquid cooling. A quick look at liquid cooling and I chose the Intel brand which sells for $80. Of the 16 reviews 1 failed after 1 year, many complaints about noise. The warranty is for 3 years. It seems this is a sealed unit so we never have to worry about loss of cooling fluid.
Thermaltake has a review dating to 2006 in which they put a liquid cooling system into a case, it is closer to what I would expect to see, cold plate, pump, reservoir and the radiator. They put everything into the case where as I would move as much as possible outside the case to reduce damage to electronics as much as possible. The link for the review is http://hexus.net/tech/reviews/chassis/6747-thermaltake-armor-lcs-liquid-cooling-system/
I'm wondering about product liability but possibly it would not apply to companies located outside the US.

I'm not sure how free this is but it looks appealing to me. You can see the game in action if you look right at the top of the page and click on 'Watch (Beta)'.

SPLIT FROM ANOTHER POST AS WAS OFF TOPIC.

I've never liked the idea of two graphics cards, the power consumption and heat generation starts to clime considerably.

If we look at the maximum power consumption of a GeForce GTX 980 Ti 6GB as a good example.

http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/nvidia-geforce-gtx-980-ti,review-33214-7.html

We see it peak @ 428 Watts, add a second card and then it's 860 Watts, give or take, now add a nice CPU and motherboard and we could be looking at 1000Watts of power.

I thought we were all trying to cut down on power consumption, something to do with saving the planet and global warming.

Maybe I'm just soft in the head but to my mind it's completely insane.
