We talked about GPUz on the other thread, and it made me think it was time for this post.

Been using Radeon Pro for a few months now, had to switch to it after getting my R9270 and not being able to use ATI Tray Tool any more.

It's good, a bit techie but I like some of the features a lot.

You can make profiles for your games or anything that runs a game engine. (only works with AMD cards). In the profiles you have options for lots of goodies

On screen display to show FPS and info about the card, speeds, temps, usage %.

Set GPU and VRAM speeds (I use it mainly for underclocking)

Set hotkeys to turn on AA and other settings

Set CPU affinity

Plenty more but the list is too long.

Problem is I'm not sure if Radeon Pro is going to be supported any more, I think the guy has stopped development. :(

Here is a screenshot of my clock settings for F1 2013, running the card at half speed, the game still runs at 50FPS but the card runs cooler, takes less power, saves you cash and probably helps to prolong the life of the GPU, it's win win win

Well its my kind of gadget if nothing else ;D

On my quest to replace my previous gadgets I found this.

GPU-Z

That article tells you a little about it and links to these downloads...

http://www.techpowerup.com/downloads/SysInfo/GPU-Z/

As you can see from the files the most recent one at this moment is July 30th and that's the one I have now and it's working nicely in 10.

Everybody knows that FSX (Steam) needs a 1024X768 screen. That's why I use my little Windows 8.1 machine for it.

Surprise, I've recently read on the web that FS2004 can run with a 1024X600 display! So I tried that (I loaded the 4 CDs) and it works fine on my vintage netbook!

Maybe some other sims could work too? But I must say that my golden age of simulators was running under Windows 98SE... :scratch-head:
