Computer chair legs broke today, just thought I would share that with all my friends. Time to get a new one, to bad things were not built to last like in the olden days. R.I.P. computer chair.

For most of my books, I have purchased them from Amazon's USED BOOK SECTION!! They have great books with hardly a scratch yet they can be had for pennies on the dollar!!

OK...Have read several really good books during the past year so I'll toss a few titles out for you.
Dan Brown's Digital Fortress - A really good techno-thriller set in modern times and told as only Dan can. A real page turner and relatively easy to follow. A great read for technically minded people.

...is in place in the UK to help supplement one's retirement?

Here in the USA we have Social Security which was initially set up to help assist people as a supplement toward their personal savings / nest egg for retirement. Now people save hardly anything and depend on the government to provide a decent level of care during their retirement years! Funny how that got turned around!!

Just curious about what you chaps have, does it or does it not work and if not what's wrong with it. Spill it guys!! Thanks!!

I posted recently in Art's welcome thingy about Eastern Europeans coming to this country and taking advantage of our Social Security, well I looked into this.

WARNING RANT.

I had no idea what was going on with this situation. Eastern Europeans have the cheek to arrive in our Country, claim they have nothing, so how did you get here ?, and have the RIGHT, yes the Right, to claim Social Benefits to the tune of 40 grand a year, tax free, to line their own pockets.

Not only that, most of them then go home and transfer the money from their British bank accounts to their own in what ever Country they live in.

We are paying for this out of our HARD EARNT money in the form of Taxes to our own Government. Now, I don't mind paying these Taxes if it will benefit our own, but I'm damned if I'm will support someone who isn't contributing to our Country in any way.

This is wrong, really WRONG and it needs to be stopped.

What would happen if I was to go to their Country and claim I was broke, what would they say. Can you imagine.

Right Cameron, sort this out NOW, no wonder this Country is nearly Bankrupt, don't make me come up there and give you a Slap.

Makes my Blood Boil.

I've noticed that some of my friend across the big pond use different country names to describe where they're from.

Some indicate England, UK, Republic of Ireland, etc. But isn't England part of the UK (I think) so why differentiate between them?

Perhaps this chap can better explain to us Yanks and maybe some of ye as well!

Now I know this is anm old article, but it's the first time I have come across this idea, and it is a pretty good one too!
