What is so great about IE 10, I haven't tried the beta yet nor had much chance to use it in Windows 8 preview so lets try and find out.

Pointers:

Full hardware acceleration. (Should be a lot quicker on computers with mid to high end graphics cards)

Better HTML 5 and CSS3 compatibility and features.

Only available for Win 7 and 8.

Two versions in Win 8, the new touchscreen "Metro" and the standard "Desktop" version.

Some of the off topic chat in the videos gets annoying, try to skip that ;)

I think its looks interesting and it is tempting to download the beta preview for Windows 7 but so far I haven't risked it.

Please feel free to add your experiences, if any, and/or thoughts about it or indeed any other videos you can find about it.

As many of you know, I'm holding an eclipse party on the 19th of this month, to watch the annular eclipse that will be occurring in my "neck of the woods". One of the things I'm planning on doing is constructing a "pinhole projector", to display an image of the eclipse in real time, since I don't have such fancy equipment as solar telescopes or even welding goggles (not a good idea to use anyway, since that's not what they're designed for). In doing some research on the optimal dimensions for the projector, I stopped at the proper Wiki entry to find out things such as pinhole diameter and focal length. I bring this up because while I was on the wiki page, I ran across this statement:

Quote from: WikipediaNASA (via the NASA Institute for Advanced Concepts) has funded initial research into the New Worlds Mission project, which proposes to use a pinhole camera with a diameter of 10 m and focus length of 200,000 km to image earth sized planets in other star systems.

And I began to wonder... In what universe is 10 meters considered a pinhole?!?!?! :o :-\ And where the heck are they going to set something like that up??? Isn't 200 thousand kilometers just over half the distance to the moon? o.O

Rather than hijack another thread, I figure it's best to start up a new topic here; namely, a frieindly game of Photoshop® Tennis! ;D

The rules are simple. Starting with a "seed" image, create a new and original piece of artwork that incorporates (either whole, or in part) that seed. The new image then becomes the seed for the next person to use in their new image, following the same principle. Anyone is allowed to join in, and you aren't restricted to Photoshop. Any graphics application (including 3D apps) are allowed, but the final image must be in JPG, PNG or GIF format.

Here's a nice seed, to start things off.

I think, in the interest of keeping bandwidth manageable, the size should be limited to 1024x768 or less. But that's a guideline, rather than a rule. :)

I'm in the process of building Trinity the third instance a chatbot, for my website. I will be using Program-o utilizing Foundation Alice v1.7 for a base brain.

A few of the AIML files did not play well with Trinity, Our friend Dave is teaching them a lesson :)

So it seemed a good time to change my old background and I found this site and thought some of us here might like the look of them too. I like darker backgrounds, easier on my eyes...

Attached one as an example...obviously not the full size one but just to give an idea. You might like the chill out music there too 8)
