I've been looking around for a Tripod for my camera for awhile and simply couldn't find what I needed. Plenty of full/half size available but I wanted a miniture/table top version.

I found exactly what I was looking for at a place called Warehouse Express on the net, based in Norwich in the UK. I have never used this company before and, I got to say, their service was second to none. Very clean, easy to use Web site, protected by PayPal, even the delivery date was spot on. I would definitely use this company again. Check it out.

Anyone (UK) catch those science programs last night on BBC4 ?

1) Horizon: Is Everything We Know About the Universe Wrong? - this one I have seen before....

QuoteThere's something very odd going on in space - something that shouldn't be possible. It is as though vast swathes of the universe are being hoovered up by a vast and unseen celestial vacuum cleaner... snip.....

...Dark flow is the latest in a long line of phenomena that have threatened to rewrite the textbooks. Does it herald a new era of understanding, or does it simply mean that everything we know about the universe is wrong?

2) Shock and Awe: The Story of Electricity (1/3) - New series with Jim Al-Khalili.

QuoteProfessor Jim Al-Khalili tells the electrifying story of our quest to master nature's most mysterious force - electricity. Until fairly recently, electricity was seen as a magical power, but it is now the lifeblood of the modern world and underpins every aspect of our technological advancements.

I really enjoyed both of them. And there was an interesting one about the National Grid too.

I know some people that have said Horizon is not really that scientific but it's great for chumps like me who just like being amazed ;D

All HALE the ALE. Let's hear it for the Pub Landlady whom has taken on Sky Sport and ESPN and WON. :yahoo:

Today the European Court has ruled that Sky/ESPN don't, in fact, have any Copyright on live sport, only on pre recorded, theme tunes and the like. In other words, they don't own it in real time only the history.

Does this mean F1 will be available again without having to mortgage your soul?, probably not, what I think it means is that live sport will be a thing of the past with televised sport running a few seconds behind real time.

So, has Goliath been beaten, I think not but at least their strangle hold has been put under the spot light for once. :'(

You go girl. :sign-great-job:

To send monitoring and video equipment to the edge of space, collect and stream back data and images of the UK, Northern Europe, the atmosphere and space itself – for about the cost of a good pair of binoculars! (About £600).

Mission objective – to attain a height of around 80,000' (25km), though it is hoped that 125,000' (38km) will be reached.

I think someone somewhere did something similar recently didn't they ? I forget, but it looks fun and you can monitor it on their website when it's launched.
