Pretty good set up, I don't think I need anything that Quick and the Price.

Of course, it's the latest in the Biggest, Fastest, Strongest, Priciest, blah...blah...thing to surface.

Now, I'm simply at the point in my life where I just don't care about that race any longer!

My stuff runs very nicely at the moment so if it ain't broke, I'm not going to fix it!

For those who choose to chase that elusive creature, best of luck!

For me it's more about keeping up with the knowledge of the new hardware, I like to know what's going on so when I do need to get a new PC I make the best choice.

The AMD EPYC video isn't about a CPU for home use, it's a server chip but it uses AMD's chiplet design which is extremely flexible, the same chiplets but less of them are used in their desktop and laptop CPU's and now in all the game consoles too.

It seems that every time I post a video like this it gets replies of people saying something like,

"I'm happy with my PC and don't need to change"

I'm not posting them to make people upgrade I'm posting them for educational reasons.

Hey! this website is all about tech after all  ;)

I started saying some time ago that it has gotten to the point that we have begun making super computers.  It took a while to get past the hard drive  and then they began putting in SSD's.  maybe we have reached the point where the majority of CPU's are fast enough for a good computer.  At the same time Win 11 is said to make a faster OS.  It 30 years to get the led light out of the Lab and into the house and cars.

I'm probably not going to buy one even though it would pop straight into my motherboard but look at this serious gaming CPU.

Ryzen 5800X3D, this is the one with the 3D cache, a huge jump in performance  :o

Just to keep things up-to-date - AMD have started releasing their 7000 series Ryzen CPU's based on 5nm tech, again some huge performance increases here but a new motherboard is needed to run them.

Much more info in the video.
