Found this interesting as I had an Atari ST. A lot of musicians used them too as it had a MIDI port and I think it was Cubase that led the field in music software if I recall correctly.

Mostly I played games on mine, but I did a fair bit of programming on it too, some ideas from then would be recreated many years later in various projects. I also designed some software for my Dad's business on it.

Quote"Don't fix it if it ain't broke". That's what we guess [Frans Bos] has been thinking for the past few decades, as he kept using his Atari ST to run a booking system for the family campground. (Video, embedded below.)

Although its case has yellowed a bit, the trusty old machine is still running 24/7 from April to October, as it has done every year since 1985. In the video [Frans] demonstrates the computer and its custom campground booking system to [Victor Bart].

It's still working, amazing.

They don't make them like that anymore - I'm not sure if that's a good thing or not   ;D

Interesting find.

Just goes to show that a computer only needs to be capable of the task in hand.

They were very reliable, no crashes that I recall.

Also surprising is that he has one of Atari's monitors there too - still working. I used an old telly with mine.
