MS have released a beta version of IE9; I'm running it now and it seems ok so far.

IE9 brings us HTML5, GPU rendering and more.

LOL Freddy, I doubt you are the only one who thinks about IE in that way. 

I had to uninstall IE9 but did get to try it out for a while, over all I think its was pretty good.

The reason I had to remove it was nothing to do with browsing the Internet, it was good at that but it seemed to upset windows 7 in other ways, Live mail would not display e-mails correctly, in fact e-mails were impossible to read, It also up-set the gadgets on the desktop and some HTML in windows was messed up, things like help files not displaying right, It makes you realise how important IE is to windows, it does much more than browse the web.

On the plus side browsing the web was the fastest Ive ever seen it, I know we have heard this before but this time there was a noticeable speed increase this is partly down to IE9's "Speed Reading" "Take full advantage of your hardware with background compiled JavaScript" they say.

There are a number of tests out there that prove IE9 is fast, most made by MS it must be pointed out, but IE9 easily beats IE8, Chrome and Firefox on every test I tried.

This test is a perfect example, when running IE9 my pc finished it in 9 seconds, IE8 can't even run it, Chrome will run it but so slow I gave up waiting and Firefox was even slower for me.

I'm gona install IE9 once its out of Beta for sure, its going to change our web experience and most of it is down to its hardware capabilities me thinks 

Speed is a good thing, but honestly at the moment Chrome is generally fast enough for me.  I will give IE9 a whirl some time with my fingers crossed that they got something right.  HTML5 can't be a bad thing but I wish they would fix all of the bugs that afflict IE first - it really is a pain to design for and makes life a misery when you have spent hours working on a site only to find that, surprise surprise it doesn't work in IE.

  Thanks for ranting, been waiting for more input before installing it myself.  In the past I'd played with browsers, haven't tried anything since Vista.  IE9 sound like it will be good when the bugs are removed.

Anyone know if it has a 64 bit version and if that works with Flash now ?

When you download IE9 it asks you what version of windows you have, if you have 32 bit windows then you download the 32 bit IE9 if you have 64 bit windows you download IE9 with both 32 and 64 bit versions.

There is still no support for Flash in 64 bit browsers, making them as good as useless.

  I'm using Google chrome now while downloading IE9, mine is 64 bit.  IE can't even get into Verizon my ISP.  Chrome can get in I like it but I"m use to the favorites to go to websites, just got use to it. Earlier Verizon posted Chrome is not supported, now the posting is gone.  I just got a message from microsoft about IE 8 having some problem.  When not using IE8 the task mgr still shows it running, can be up to 8 IE8's running.  Let you know how IE 9 works for me, time to restart.

  I tried the IE9, still wasn't happy, Norton still had problems with the Adware Hotbar,  it had to keep removing it.  I downloaded Spybot Search and destroy which I've used in the past. Ran the spybot and found the Adware is connected to Sarfari. It found a long list of problems and fixed them.
  I'll have to wait and see how things work out.  Oh, IE9 had me download a newer version of Adobe for video.

Keep us posted on your IE9 experience, I'm considering downloading it again, it was in early beta last time I tried but now its up to RC something, I guess it should have improved a bit.

Not sure what you'r saying  Dodgy.  In my search for 3D characters I did visit a lot of  adult sites.  Have about 6 programs I downloaded.
  I was at Zabaware earlier, IE9 couldn't open a link, Tried Chrome and that works with the link.  Over all chrome seems better, faster, ect  just use to using IE because of favorites and I shut down chrome by mistake.  Getting freezes or delays I can see while typing probably from using the Spybot or it may be Haptek running in the background, just shut it down and it seems okay now.
  I did notice IE9 looks very familar to Chrome.

Dodgy must be an English word then or something like that.

Dodgy = Of uncertain outcome; especially fraught with risk.

IE 9 is still being developed so I guess your link not working might be something to do with that, though you would have thought if anything was going to work it world be clicking links.

  I just reset all the settings back to the default in IE9,  took out all the options and it seems to be working okay, since the reset it seems to have speeded up a little.  I think both sides of the Atlantic have there own way of saying things. 
  When I finish using IE yesterday I looked in the taskmgr, I still had 30 something IE running.  If Notron didn't take care of it spybot should have.  Only two IE at this time.

I really don't like the sound of all those IE's running, I think if it was me I would wipe the Windows drive clean and re-install, and now is a good time to do it because of the release of SP1.  You shouldn't need to install a couple of hundred up-dates.
