As of this post, it's only been out a little while, I think. Remember that when reading this post. So far, so good though... Ubuntu 16.04.1 LTS (Xenial Xerus) seems to run pretty impressive in terms of performance and stability. It even has (LTS) Long Term Support. Installing off a USB thumb drive is so convenient for PCs with the option to boot off the USB on startup. With this point release, Ubuntu 16.04.1, they must've gotten it into pretty decent shape, I'd guess.
I'm still using 14.04LTS on my dev servers, since 16 hasn't been out long enough for me to fully "trust" it, but I'm very glad that you're seeing no problems so far. Please keep us posted, especially with anything that causes you grief. :)
I'm still waiting for AMD Vulkan (http://www.amd.com/en-us/innovations/software-technologies/technologies-gaming/vulkan#) to be adopted by more game engines before I make the switch from Windows.
Having to re-boot into another OS from time to time can become a pain.
Rooting for Ubuntu but not holding my breath.
