Doesn't seem that long since robots couldn't even stand upright and walk,  Nice to see the progress that has been made and I think of the cost.

Yes I was saying the same thing to my other half, it's quite amazing how far they have come in a very short space of time. Hey! they can dance better then I can, seriously.

I have to say I like robots that try to look like humans not something that walks like a dog to be for better movement.

When seeing these "Spot" types of robots I am always reminded of that wonderfully agile four-legged robot, "AMEE", in the movie Red Planet with Val Kilmer.

Quadruped robots of this type are necessary to navigate complex environments, small fissures and cracks, rocks, and other physical challenges that might be encountered on an alien planet. A bipedal robot would likely have a much more difficult time negotiating similar terrain.

Forget using wheels...they are of little to no practical use except for on flat terrain.
