Jury's still out for me. That's a lot of money to put out for a game that I may not end up enjoying. It's become clear to me lately that my taste in games has changed over the years.

I think I know what you mean Dave.

Believe it or not I agree with you there, the game looks great with some very unique gameplay but there is violence in it, now I'm not against it being in games but it's getting a bit tiresome, can't help but think game makers should find another way to challenge the player.

I think that might be what you were getting at  ;)

For me a lot of this comes down to game evolvement and new types of gameplay, this game does have some new ideas along with some pretty impressive graphics, if the demo vids can be believed. For that reason I have to get it  :D

That's exactly what I meant, yes. For me it all boils down to motive and necessity. For example, in battle sims, such as the Battlefield series of games or most MMORPG games (I'm trying to stick with games I've actually played here), the motive is to fight "evil", and the necessity is that if you don't kill the enemy, they kill you, or you don't advance the story/quest line. However, in some games, such as the GTA series of games, the motive is far different, and the necessity is often quite different, too. Ok, maybe renting a "companion" would be fun one or twenty times (or more, because let's face it, I'm a perv at heart), but why do I need to pistol whip someone when I'm already stealing their car? Gratuitous ~ANYTHING~ these days is simply unnecessary, and not as fun as it used to be.

I suppose that one could attribute the change in tastes to "getting old", but I like to think it's more because I'm a but more "sophisticated" now than I was in the past, and as a result, my tastes have become a bit more complex, too. :)

You're never "old" until you let the world convince you that you are. :P

What can I say? I can still beat the times of my mates son on F1 2012. Even if I can't beat Data.

With age comes wisdom. Hopefully. Or is it like wine? And I'm just becoming sour?

I reckon exiting the vehicle during the crash could become a next sensation in it's own right, see who can come up with the best "Landing"

"Watch Dogs" has a nice ring to it.
Ubisoft is getting great reviews for this too.
