Title: Yesterday...
Post by: GT40 on July 23, 2015, 14:35:28 PM

Today I got this vid on my Youtube channel:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xKVS_81Op5A (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xKVS_81Op5A)

Then I realized that most of the games I enjoyed a lot were located

on my prehistoric Atari 800 XL or
on my first PC from 1993.

Just nostalgia or nothing good was created after 2001? :o

Played quite a lot of those. I didn't know there was a newer Wolfenstein, it's always great fun shooting Nazis.

Division is not out yet as far as I know...

And Outrun, now that was fun.

It really does show how much graphics have moved on. But even back in the 80s we used to say that great graphics don't make a game they only enhance it.

Thanks for watching, Data and Freddy. Oh yes, Wolfenstein 3D was my fav game (nothing to understand, lol).

Unfortunately Nazis didn't disappear. Instead of "Heil Hitler!", nowadays they shout "Allahu Akbar!". Same shit but much more dangerous. And it's not a game. :(

I don't understand why my low-end PCs were able to run Doom and Half-Life. Nowadays we must buy expensive machines to enjoy the latest games of the year. :scratch-head:

Forgive me GT but computers have never been so cheap (apart from Apple  ;) )

My first PC was £800 (15 years ago) where as this one I'm using now was put together for about £450, It can play the latest games (maybe not all on maximum quality but it can play them).

I remember them early first computers weren't cheap either  :(

We should put a fund together for our GT, the "Lets get GT a gaming PC fund"   I'm in  :)

My first computer was a Radio Shack TRS80, clear back in 1978. No monitor (the TV had to be used, on channel 3), no external storage and no printer, but I had a lot of fun with it. I don't recall now how much I paid for it, I'm afraid... that was a very long time ago and these days I can't always remember if I took today's medications. :P

Thank you so much Data, nice idea, but Steam or not, I'm not a gamer. :D
