I thought this was interesting and maybe a sign of more to come.
You can now buy a range extender pack/kit for the Leaf, it comes with everything you need and seems to add another 80 miles or so to the range of the car.
It's not really a job that anyone could do, you would probably have to pay a professional to fit it but it shows that it can be done and that some companies are starting to take range extenders seriously.
