He's a great host and reviewer and one can't help but love his humor! I'm kind of confused on the 100% independent advert. Is that referring to something like "Self-driving" or an Independent car manufacturer? Independent suspension? Hmm...

Thoughts? Please?

I do like the car but again, whether I could fit comfortably might be another issue.

I would have to get one that didn't have the white interior, also the the 45kWh battery would do me, bigger battery = heavier = less efficient.

It does look like a great car but I struggle with VW's past record of cheating. Still people will buy it and that will lead to less ICE cars on the road   

Art the independent thing is to do with how Fully Charged are funded - by the people that watch the videos, no car manufacturers involved, Robert gives his honest opinions.

You may not know but Robert is best known for his comedy acting as the meccanoid Kryten in the TV series Red Dwarf, here he is 

Not having watched Red Dwarf before, he is quite the character actor isn't he? Good stuff.

I do enjoy watching his reviews as I feel they are articulate, thoughtful, practical and honest. And all that happens during lots of snarky comments. Love it!

I'm a Golf fan boy too so am looking at the ID3 with interest. Still 3-5 years before I could afford one without going into debt or winning the lottery.

In debt? I always thought that next to purchasing a house, an automobile purchase was the second most expensive.
Seems that perhaps not most but a lot of folks do set them up for financing for a specific period of time...the less the better as far as interest but young people like lower rates for longer periods so it seems.

How much and for how long?

And...there's the crowd of the mindset for LEASING. Let the company worry about maintenance, recalls, issues of all sorts. One just supplies fuel (or perhaps even electric).  One caveat I've noticed with a lot of leasing companies is that many/most have specified terms with regard to mileage driven within a period of time (month or year). For salesmen covering a wide area or anyone else who racks up a lot of mileage might end up paying dearly for those miles.

Most leasing companies will also offer the auto to the leesee for a reduced but reasonable price, given depreciation, etc.

My neighbor leased a new car every two years and loved it. All he supplied was gasoline.

Seeing as Snowy does seem to be interested in the ID3 and the range of electric cars I came across this other video with a lot more information in.

Personally I would consider getting a used ID3 in about 18 months to 2 years time, pay far less and have most of the software bugs fixed by then.

Just to add a little note to what I noticed in the video, on their trip they averaged 3.8 miles per kWh which seems quite low to me, over a year my Leaf averages 5.8 miles per kWh.

I know he said in the video that he was just going to drive it "normally" but was that normally for an ICE car? or an EV, they are not the same thing. After living with an EV for over 3 years I can say that for me I adjusted my driving style considerably.
