I have a cousin that became disabled and lost her drivers license and would love a self driving car, I wonder if it will happen in her lifetime. Myself I'm pretty use to driving a car, I've got to admit for some reason I feel safer driving the Leaf, wouldn't want to pay for the extra cost of a self driving car though. I wonder how insurance would adjust to self driving.

It looks like a good place to put this, I've always liked Sony and felt like they made the best product.

My insurance company has already lowered/adjusted its rates because of less driving due to the C-19 virus.
Hopefully their greed won't exceed their common sense when autonomous cars become commonplace.
Time will tell...
My insurance company sent me a check for $13.00, I really don't care for insurance companies.

I certainly agree but still, we must either give them their due or park our cars and remove the tags.
Don't ever fall for getting one of those "Free" little Plug-in devices that monitor your "safe-driving" like so many claim.
What they're actually doing is tracking and watching everything you do...speed, breaking, takeoffs, etc. then watch your rates adjust accordingly and usually not downward either...
Then we get email notices from them wanting to know our car's odometer's current reading. Simply don't fill it out and don't send it in. Again, they will use that information to watch how many miles you're driving per year and adjust those rates accordingly.
No Carl...I don't trust nor care for them either.
We have our cars tested once a year for safety reasons, they call it an MOT test, during the test they make a note of the millage and enter the information into a central database. The insurance companies can read the database, they know how many miles we all do. We have a problem over here of people clocking cars millage, they used to turn back the milometer to add value to a used car, they can't get away with it now.
