This topic might be a bit controversial but it has always surprised me just how intelligent some animals are.

The crow family are smart fellas. Springwatch have had some nice experiments like this, you can probably find them on YT.

Since birds evolved from the Dinosaurs, they have had plenty of time to become smart. Good for them, I bet they will be around longer than we are.
