Title: Good News / Bad News
Post by: Art on July 29, 2012, 20:41:14 PM
I received an email just moments ago regarding our friend, Morti's dad, Dave Morton, as follows:

This is Dave's mother.  Dave was in a high speed motorcycle accident 7/9/12.  We are praising the Lord daily for His mercies and miracles.  Dave is in trauma Med/surg unit at Mercy San Juan Hospital in Carmichael, CA.  He is slowly healing and probably will be able to come home soon.  He has factures in all four limbs is going to need lots of therapies and tender loving care.  He obtained no head injuries, but has multiple internal injuries, but doing good.  You may send him cards to David Morton c/o Nancy Morton, po box 3834, Carson City, NV 89702.  He doesn't have access to computer at this time, but soon should be able to use laptop and read emails.

Yes, good news, bad news, finally we prefer to keep the good news part. Hope Dave will quickly recover and tell us his bad adventure by himself. ;)

thanks, mates. i don't remember anything of the accident except for what they tell me, which isn't much, at this point. I do know that the "high speed" bit either had to come from the other driver or from my Mum, since I'm always very careful (even paranoid) about my speed. Still hurts to type, and I want to take things slow at first, so I'll check in later. :)

One phrase comes to mind...Dragon Naturally Speaking!  OK...the Windows VR also works quite nicely for me!!

At any rate (no pun) take your time ol bud!! Things will fall into place in due time!!

- Best -

Dave,
Had a cousin in a comma for about a month so you're a step ahead of him.  Wish you the best and hope you're up and about soon.

Subjective  Reality, DD. "Normal" here means something far different from "normal" in other places. :D

Yeah they have filled me full of drugs now...symptoms have been drowned in medication! Can sleep again which is nice. Just chilling and watching olympics. This is the fifth time in hospital for this getting used to it heh.  Quick recovery looks doable though :) thanks for the well wishes.

Mental health is a funny thing to treat it seems, yes there are symptoms, but the tablets are there to correct an imbalance, that's the best way I can explain my understanding of it.  I probably didn't express that right in my previous message.

I don't think there is a 'cure' as such, in a similar way that there is no cure for a broken leg.  Parts of your body take the strain as long as they can, then sometimes they need a helping hand.

I understand more clearly now Freddy thanks, and sorry to hear there is no means for a cure. Besides being able to watch the olympics, and being able to say HELLO NURSE  :P Hospitals are not much fun, So I'll pray that you don't need any more assistance

Freddy, I've been down that road before, too, so I can empathize. Still in all, though, I'd rather be in YOUR situation right now than mine. :P

My father suffered terribly badly in that respect Freddy so I have an understanding of what you are going through.

It's interesting to note you describe it in the same terms as he used to........
