I received an email just moments ago regarding our friend, Morti's dad, Dave Morton, as follows:
This is Dave's mother. Dave was in a high speed motorcycle accident 7/9/12. We are praising the Lord daily for His mercies and miracles. Dave is in trauma Med/surg unit at Mercy San Juan Hospital in Carmichael, CA. He is slowly healing and probably will be able to come home soon. He has factures in all four limbs is going to need lots of therapies and tender loving care. He obtained no head injuries, but has multiple internal injuries, but doing good. You may send him cards to David Morton c/o Nancy Morton, po box 3834, Carson City, NV 89702. He doesn't have access to computer at this time, but soon should be able to use laptop and read emails.
Wondered where Dave had got to.
Bad news. Hope you heal quick Dave. Our thoughts are with you.
Yes I was wondering where our Dave had got to as well.
Thanks for letting us know Art
All the best to Dave and his family at this time. Get better soon my friend.
Very sorry to hear of your plight Dave, get well soon buddy. :sign-sad:
Ouch!!!! So sorry to hear about that Dave. and here I was thinking you were enjoying your vacation :(
Hope you have a speedy recovery my friend.
Yes, good news, bad news, finally we prefer to keep the good news part. Hope Dave will quickly recover and tell us his bad adventure by himself. ;)
thanks, mates. i don't remember anything of the accident except for what they tell me, which isn't much, at this point. I do know that the "high speed" bit either had to come from the other driver or from my Mum, since I'm always very careful (even paranoid) about my speed. Still hurts to type, and I want to take things slow at first, so I'll check in later. :)

One phrase comes to mind...Dragon Naturally Speaking! OK...the Windows VR also works quite nicely for me!!
At any rate (no pun) take your time ol bud!! Things will fall into place in due time!!
- Best -
funny thing! Mum actually got the app for the new computer! (Why I need a NEW computer is beyond me) Sadly, though, I'll be a few more weeks before I can get home to use it. :D
Good to hear from you Dave, hope you recover soon, take it easy and don't rush things
lol hard to rush things when bound to a bed, but i'm taking things as slow as i can for now. :)
Dave,
Had a cousin in a comma for about a month so you're a step ahead of him. Wish you the best and hope you're up and about soon.

With any luck, I should be out of the hospital by the end of the week. Lord knows that's what i'm working toward. :)
Hope you have a pretty nurse to assist you in there, but then again if you did you would not be hoping to get out anytime soon :P
Discharged from hospital today :)

Fantastic news Freddy, well done my friend. :D
Sorry Freddy...I can't hear you! Can you TAP a little louder!!
Glad you'd out and hopefully, about once again. Do take care!!
It's all good then ...
Freddy is home, Dave will be coming home soon, the site will soon be back to normal, whatever that is ;D
Freddy's been in hospital too.
I missed that then. Hope all is well or nearly well and on the mend.
Get well soon to the both of you.
Normal Data? ;)
Subjective Reality, DD. "Normal" here means something far different from "normal" in other places. :D
So I have gathered Dave

Snowcrash don't feel too bad, I missed that one as well :(
May both of you recover well, and soon.
P.S.
Sorry I missed you was out of commission Freddy, hope all is well.
Yeah they have filled me full of drugs now...symptoms have been drowned in medication! Can sleep again which is nice. Just chilling and watching olympics. This is the fifth time in hospital for this getting used to it heh. Quick recovery looks doable though :) thanks for the well wishes.

wow 5 times for the same thing....hope they find the cause to cure it....sounds like there just treating for the symptoms :( Though I could be wrong.
Mental health is a funny thing to treat it seems, yes there are symptoms, but the tablets are there to correct an imbalance, that's the best way I can explain my understanding of it. I probably didn't express that right in my previous message.
I don't think there is a 'cure' as such, in a similar way that there is no cure for a broken leg. Parts of your body take the strain as long as they can, then sometimes they need a helping hand.
I understand more clearly now Freddy thanks, and sorry to hear there is no means for a cure. Besides being able to watch the olympics, and being able to say HELLO NURSE :P Hospitals are not much fun, So I'll pray that you don't need any more assistance
Freddy, I've been down that road before, too, so I can empathize. Still in all, though, I'd rather be in YOUR situation right now than mine. :P
Yes i don't envy your condition mate.

My father suffered terribly badly in that respect Freddy so I have an understanding of what you are going through.
It's interesting to note you describe it in the same terms as he used to........
