I would like to get an MP3 player to keep me company during my hours of up coming you know what. Having taken a look around Amazon etc, there appears to be thousands of the things to choose from. Now, I know Jack about these things and was wondering if any of you would have any ideas/recommendations.

I don't give a Monkey's what it looks like or if it's the latest offering, what I need is, a good amount of Memory, good sound quality, radio, good battery life, ease of us/loading, proper Head Phones and all for no money.

Can you help ?.  :scratch-head:
It WILL be fine !...

I have a little MP3 player made by SanDisk called a Sansa, it's sound quality is excellent, its build quality too and it doesn't need any drivers for Windows, just plug it in to a USB port put your music on it, you can also charge it from any USB socket or from the mains.

I would recommend something like that:

If you do get one you might want to get a mains charger too, I don't think they come with one, or my one didn't but its a slightly older model the new ones might, would need to look in to that.

No idea about stand alone player, I just use my phone to play mp3...

Many thanks Data, that has been ordered.

I did look into mains charging but we have a couple of USB adapted three pin plugs that will charge anything that has USB charging.

I also chucked these in as I cant stand those in-the- ear jobbies.

So all in all, not too expensive.  ;D

Them headphones look nice, I remember Sennheiser from years ago, they always had the best deep bass. :sign-rock-on:

Really impressed with the radio on my Sansa it seems to work in places that you wouldn't think it would, like in doors slouched on the sofa, although I do live at top of a hill.

The photo doesn't do it justice in some ways and you will be surprised how small it is, smaller than a matchbox.

what no mic, no headset is complete without one lol just joking they nice.......my kids have a sansa mp3 player (older and cheaper model) and they love it, nice recommendation Data  ;)

Being some what Old School when it comes to music reproduction, I have always believed the bigger the kit the better the sound, just how wrong can you be.

Having received my new MP3 player, I was a little surprised as to just how tiny this thing is, it's actually smaller than my Zippo and I thought, there's no way is this going to be good enough.   :o

I've loaded some of my music onto it, plugged in my new Cans and listened and listened and listened. This thing is absolutely awesome the total DOG'S.

How such a small piece of kit manages that level of reprodution is way beyong me, once again, top draw call there Data.  :hats-off:

It WILL be fine !...

And you can get your whole music collection on it.

Glad you like it Diesel, I recommended that one mainly because it's easy to put your music on to it, no drivers or stupid iTunes needed to be installed, just plug it in and drag your music to it

Freddy

I just had an idea.  Why don't they make headphones like the ones Diesel got and build the mp3 player into them... no more wires.  I bet that's been done.  :P
