Freddy

Hi guys and Mrs Data,

I hope I am not tempting fate, but I think after three weeks of pain I could be on the mend.  For those of a weak disposition please look away now.  Apparently one of the doctors now thinks it was a gall stone and the pain stopped once that passed through my *ahem* system.  All well and good but I will never look at golf balls the same way, and that 10mm gravel in the drive is going to make me wince for a few days still.

What seems to have happened is the gall stone may have got lodged somewhere and was stopping the bile from escaping and thus all the stomach problems and pain with acid.  All the medication was just helping to keep it at bay for a while but it looks like my body finally did the right thing.

Anyway, I won't go on as it may get galling...ho ho

So yeah, now I just have Jaundice...  lol - I said things come in threes !  So I am like Homer Simpson at the moment with yellow face and eyes.  I hope it wears off as I look like a zombie now - but one of my nurses said it was in good time for Halloween so maybe it was all in the stars.

Today has been the nicest day in a while and I feel more cheery.  I saw my sister tonight and we had a good chat.  She is just about to set out on a trip to the Everest Base Camp.  I don't know if anyone saw but the plane that went down recently was the company she was booked to fly with.  Everyone on that plane died, and I just found out that one of her friends was supposed to be on that flight but had requested to get on the same flight as my Sis.  If he hadn't have done that, he would be dead.  Amazing, but sadly he changed his mind about going (who can blame him), and he doesn't like to fly anyway.  It must be strange to experience something like that.

Now my Sis is booked with another company and I pray it all goes well.  You have to live life and my sister is the epitome of that, so good luck to her :)

I'll pop in some more now I feel better, just need to recharge my batteries now ;D

Over and out.

Oh it was a stone, that is really going to muck your system up, there was only one way it could go and you managed to pass it, you lucky boy Freddy, I know of 2 people who had to go under the knife to get them removed. It could have been worse for you. I know that isn't much consolation.

I don't know much about jaundice other than you go yellow or how long it takes to get over it but I hope you recover soon.

Glad you are feeling better already  :)

Your sister does sound brave to me, brave and adventurous and of course I wish her all the best, you can pass that along to her if you like. ;)

Freddy

Thanks mate, actually that is some consolation  :D

I just feel a bit yucky at the moment, I guess my body is poisoned.  Seeing the doc tomorrow so will know better then.

I'll pass that on to my sister  :)

Glad you're on the mend and do ask your Dr. (if he or she doesn't mention) about diet and exercise. None of us are getting younger but it would still be much nicer to have you with us for a long time!! Cheers mate!! All the best!

Snowcrash

It probably doesn't feel like it but I rekon you got off lucky.

A guy I work with had gall stone(s) and went under the knife. After a while off work, he came back and had a nasty RTA; had to be cut out of the new van. More time off work. He came back but was really tired all the time (not to mention back and knee problems from the accident). Turns out the RTA dislodged a gall stone and had to go under the knife again. This over about the last 6 months.

There's always someone else worse off then you. Though that doesn't stop you being miffed about your lot in life.  ???
Hope all goes well and your liver kicks back in to working properly.

Yes, I remember when I was doubled up over the kitchen table I kept telling myself there are people worse off than me.  I don't think it really worked though hehe.

It's not over yet it seems.  My doctor told me not to socialise and stuff until the jaundice clears up as he had a few people with Hepatitis lately, so we should be cautious.  More blood tests next week to see if my liver is on the mend and dealing with things.  They found bacteria or toxins or something, I forget.  Assuming the gall stone theory is correct (which is where my money is) a lot of crap (as in bile) probably built up and got dumped when it decided to leave.

Then some time I have to go to the hospital for ultra sound scans.  Fun fun fun. I'm just glad to be free of all the pain for the moment, I will take that for now.  So I am basically house bound for a while, which of course means I can catch up with some gaming...every cloud they say...

Thanks for all the kind words from everyone, I really appreciate it, it cheers me up a lot  ;D

gall stone ouch!!! Sorry to hear that Freedy. Glad to hear that it passed though on it's own, and your on your way to getting better and pain free.

Don't know how long jaundice can last lasts, I'll pray that you get well soon and that your sister and friend has a safe flight..

Diesel

Good for you Freddy, it's about time you got some good fortune, you have had a rough time of it just lately. Jaundice is quite treatable and shouldn't last long, home stretch here you come.  :D
It WILL be fine !...

Have a speedy recovery, dear yellow Freddy (maybe your monitor?).

Good luck in your Third Life (Second Life is funnier indeed).

Freddy, I swear, if you're feeling badly on purpose, just to keep me company... :o

Kidding, my friend. Here's to getting better, and doing what we each do best, whatever THAT is. :)

Diesel, thanks mate, I hope you are right :)

GT40, third life, I am still working on the first one ! ;)

Dave, it's been hell yes as I had to compete with you, but you have me beat unless something else wants to have a go at me - I would still not swap places  :o

DaveMorton

Nor would I, Freddy. Not with anyone here. You blokes are all too important to me to hear of you going through this stuff. :)
