The environmental and planetary petition thread.
Maybe if we all add our voices to good causes someone might listen, hey! it's got to be worth a try.
Feel free to post new petitions in here, (no purely political subjects please), lets keep this about our health, pollution and the future of our planet.
Starting with:
UK Government: Declare a Climate Emergency Now - then Act Like it

Our blue planet is under threat.
From climate change and plastics, to deep sea mining and overfishing - the threats facing our world's oceans are growing bigger and more urgent day by day.

I think you are right, they e-mailed me the same petition again, will have to keep an eye on that.
QuoteProtect Forests: Protect Life
10 years ago, hundreds of the world's biggest companies made a promise to end forest destruction by 2020. With only a few months left, they are nowhere near this goal.
Scientists say we have a little over 10 years left to avoid the worst impacts of climate change. Protecting and restoring forests is one of the best defenses we have against climate breakdown.
This is where we draw the line. We've had enough of companies promising they care about the environment whilst profiting from forest destruction. They've been promising to fix this for 10 years but now they're out of time.
They need to act now - while there are still forests left to protect.

QuoteNo more climate-wrecking oil ads
We're in a climate emergency. Oil companies like BP got us into it, and they're digging us deeper every day by continuing to drill for new oil and gas. At the same time, they're bombarding us with ads trying to convince us they're not the climate-wreckers we know they are.

A petition with a difference here, us EV owners are a bit annoyed at ICE car owners parking in charging bays and preventing us from getting a charge, it happened again last week for me, a dirty diesel was parked in the charging bay. These people must learn and sometimes it's only a fine that will do.
QuoteMake it illegal to park non-electric cars in an electric charging bay

Now is the time to create hundreds of thousands of green jobs
https://secure.greenpeace.org.uk/page/s/CreateGreenJobs
It's COP26 soon and the UK has a chance to seriously steer world leads in a better direction.
QuoteAs the host of the UN's global climate summit this autumn, the UK has a unique opportunity to rally other countries across the world to step up their action.
It's worth a try ;)

QuoteTell Shell to stop hiding behind carbon offsetting while they continue with climate-wrecking business as usual.

This is a good one:
Require all new builds to have solar panels as condition of planning permission.

Link the Smart Export Guarantee tariff with wholesale prices
The price for selling and buying electricity needs to be regulated in favour of green electricity generation. The energy companies should buy the excess of energy produced by the micro-generators at actual wholesale prices.
