However, could that miracle material Graphene be about to come to the rescue!!!!

Breakthrough could make smartphones and laptops 1,000 times faster

Researchers at University of Pittsburgh have generated a frequency comb (a slice of spectrum) with more than 100 terahertz bandwidth, eclipsing today’s devices that operate in the gigahertz frequency region.

On Saturday, May 20th, 2012, there will be an annular solar eclipse, apparently the last one this century, the center of the path of totality passing over Northern Nevada, USA, starting around 4:15PM local time, and ending around 6:30PM, with the time of totality, being approximately around 5:30PM (give or take a few minutes). I've got a spot all picked out, and everyone is invited (yes, I know, I've posted all this before, months ago). Bring your cameras and eye protection, ant whatever non-alcoholic beverages and/or snacks you wish. There are more details posted on my website at http://www.geekcavecreations.com/?eclipse2012

I'm not sure if you blokes on the island observe Summertime (Daylight Saving Time), but on the off chance that you do (and given that the "powers that be" can't leave things alone, and keep moving the date around), I thought I'd give a bit of a hint that the clocks about the house may need adjusting. :P

(I only knew because my computer reminded me a few minutes ago!)

Experiment observes elusive neutrino transformation

Physicists have detected and measured, for the first time, a transformation of one particular type of neutrino into another type. The finding, physicists say, may help solve some of the biggest mysteries about the universe, such as why the universe contains more matter than antimatter -- a phenomenon that explains why stars, planets, and people exist at all.

Meteorites reveal another way to make life's components

Creating some of life's building blocks in space may be a bit like making a sandwich -- you can make them cold or hot, according to new NASA research. This evidence that there is more than one way to make crucial components of life increases the likelihood that life emerged elsewhere in the Universe, according to the research team, and gives support to the theory that a "kit" of ready-made parts created in space and delivered to Earth by impacts from meteorites and comets assisted the origin of life.
