In the 1999 Le Mans race, British race driver Peter Dumbreck suffered every drivers worst 200mph nightmare.

Amazingly this was the THIRD Mercedes to do this that weekend (one of which was being driven by Mark Webber at the time), although neither of the other incidents were at this speed!!!

Now you know why so much down force is required. 

This was apparently due to a "Misclaculation" during the aerodynamic development!!!

Someone needed shooting for that mistake, luckily Peter Dumbreck got away with out injury from that accident..........thank goodness for him he missed all the trees

Luckily not, the car driven by Webber flipped not once but twice that weekend.

The Mercedes boss still decided to enter the other two cars into the race resulting in Dumbrecks luckily non-fatal accident. The other car was immediately withdrawn from the race rather sensibly at that point!!!

Both times previous to the one DD shows, the #4 car was being driven by Mr. Weber. I can almost hear his thoughts during the second launch: "Oh, No! Not AGAIN!!! "

Sorta reminds me of this pot of petunias I know.

I can only assume that when Mark Webber had this accident in 2010 he must have thought "at least the scenary is different this time!!!"
