Interesting. The glass shattering reminded me of that Prince Rupert's Drop... I think we posted this already but here it is as it's cool :

I find that interesting because it happened to me, and until this day it has always been a mystery to me. One day a few years back there was a pop and a shattering noise from the kitchen. I went in saw nothing and then looked in the fridge. The whole of one glass shelf had shattered into thousands of small pieces with no apparent reason. It was really weird. Until today I did not know glass could shatter spontaneously. Cool 8)
