The F-BOMB won an award from DARPA's Cyber Fast Track program.
New spy gadget for James Bond types created by this so enthusiastic guy, and his device does not even go BOOM :scratch-head:

I like the way its built on the cheap yet still works, who wouldn't?

But right now I feel like one of my customers when I explain to them about PC's you know most of it makes no sense to them what so ever.

So the question is, what is it?  :scratch-head:  Anyone.

sybershot

it's a advanced spying device that has a few different features depending on configuration. Also there is no way to find out who made the device or where the info is being sent to.
EXAMPLE: (mode names are fictional created by me for I don't know there real mode names)
GPS tracker mode - place on a vehicle and it will send out gps coordinates of vehicle/device
Network intruder mode - place on top of a building and taps into nearby networks and sends out the info.

here is a more defined article on it

Thanks for further explaining it Syber, now I understand, have to say that I would be very annoyed if I found out someone was using one of them to spy on me.

I.T. has enriched our lives in so many ways but things like this really scare me.

The guy in the video should make a spy detector now to equal it up a bit.

DD1975

OK that article makes pretty clear even to me, that's VERY scary that you can make something like that for $49!!!!!!!!!!!!

I would be pretty annoyed as well. This could destroy someones life, or at least bare minimum cause a massive headache for someone.

Agreed, but I doubt if he did it would be that cheap.

Would I be yelled at if I said it needs video, for only a couple quid more? O.O I can get USB webcams for like $5.00USD pretty regularly.

That would up the power consumption and you'd need some sort of motion detect.

Can we re-name this thread to 'remote stalking'?

DARPA has radio controlled insects that have cams attached to them, probably why it was not a main feature  :scratch-head:

Great find
although the rock idea I like better than the cheesy white box.  Oh wait that would cost too much, an extra dollar perhaps lol

DaveMorton

You know, looking at the video again, I'm struck by just how much that guy reminds me of the character of Eli Wallace, from Stargate Universe. Have a look, and judge for yourself:

Yes? No? Maybe? Drugs are bad?

Is it just me or does the Guy in the top vid look like a young Meat Loaf ?. May be there are more than Satanic Chants in his music, when played back wards.  ;)
It WILL be fine !...

Snowcrash

Or is that the cloned love child of David Blue and Meatloaf?

The problem is Sybershot that "Rock" probably cost the British taxpayer thousands to develop, and lets face it it wasn't exactly effective in the field was it!!!!!!!
