Hi all, I'm Mark from Norwich, U. K. I found Datahopa from the link on the AI Dreams website. I'm currently unemployed but studying Cisco networking via the Open University. Not quite sure what else to say right now. Any Linux users here?
Welcome aboard Mark, I've noticed that you have around, in the back ground, for a week or two. Nice that you have come forward to talk to us all. Just jump in anywhere you feel like, I promise we don't bite, well apart from Snowcrash, just kidding. Enjoy your time here and once again, WELCOME.
Hi Mark and thank you for introducing yourself to the forum, always good when a new member joins.
At the moment you have limited functionality on the site but as your post count increases that will change.
Don't think anyone here uses Linux but I might be wrong.
:sign-welcome: aboard :)
Welcome aboard Mark, I have one can say tested the waters of various linux operating systems ;D I have not done much with packages and all there dependencies, just basically used whatever programs came with the distros. I like Debian and ICE. ICE makes a nice small light weight os, and I might re-install it on one of my machines in the future once I get a touch screen.
Hi Mark, I was born in Norwich, lovely city :)
Welcome to the site :)
Whenever I hear Norwich mentioned I think of "Sale Of The Century"
And guess what? ... Yup I found it on Youtube.
Checkout the lovely prizes
Sale Of The Century (opening titles) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1jPOT4mP8c8#)
Showing my age now but that takes me back :)
Haha, yes I remember that too. Nicholas Parson is a great entertainer or host I suppose more accurately.
In more recent times of course there is Alan Partridge and Radio Norwich
Woof woof woof.
Me bite? Never! It's just my bark. :D
Hi Mark, and welcome to Datahopa.
Well met, Mark! Welcome to Datahopa, from across the pond! While I can't truthfully say that I'm a Linux user, I DO have ubuntu installed on a Virtual Machine, for the purpose of testing websites that I develop, and to "learn the ropes", so to speak. Of course, I also have XP and Windows 8 installed on VM's, too, but that's a rather long story. :P Feel free to post whatever comes to mind, as long as it's not overly offensive, and doesn't smell like "processed pork meat product". :D
Hello Mark welcome to the site.
Funny ALan Partridge has been mentioned, I read today that he's going to get a new show on Sky Atalantic!!!
Hey Mark! Nice to see a new name (not that there's anything wrong with the old ones... ::))
I have fooled with Ubuntu for many years off and on. Windows always seems to win out because of its widespread popularity. It's a shame there aren't more Ubuntu adopters to help raise it from a low hover.
I'd give you a "Get out of Jail card", ...if I had one...which I don't...so don't get thrown in the Sin Bin!!
Again, Welcome!!
Um... Art? You ~DO~ realize, don't you, that this post is only a day short of 6 months old, from the day of the most recent post? :-\ :scratch-head: ;D :P :D :sign-lol: :sign-evil-laugh:
Well yeah but it was highlighted in my browser and I didn't want Mark to think that I never noticed!! You know...it's always nice to be polite, and try to do things that are right! (at least that's what my daughter's toy always said when she was little!).
Seriously, it WAS highlighted as if there was a NEW posting and I didn't give a glance at the date as I was in a hurry!! DOH!!! ;D
No worries. We were all probably mildly entertained. :)
If anything, he's had 6 whole months to think of another posting!!
I was just trying to coax him a bit. ::)
Good point. :)
