Looks like Intel will be shipping their new chips early next year. Was thinking of building a new PC for Xmas but I'm wondering on whether to wait now. Seeing as the Haswell chip was only a small step.
The new chip will be 14nm and 30% power reduction. All looking good.
They're also bringing out a cut down core in 14nm called Quark.

One thing stands out, the new chips will work on a Haswell mobo so it must be the same architecture just a size down.

So something like 5 to 10% performance increase over Haswell could be a reasonable assumption.   

Maybe more but probably not. Looks more like their aiming at the power decrease.

It appears that some of the reports of Broadwell cpus working on Haswell mobos might have been wrong.

Intel ran into some problems with the 14-nanometer process used to manufacture the chips and will have to fix them before it can resume production.

Haswell, Broadwell both out of the question for me, Hmm maybe a Sky ( tempting 14nm, SATA Express, and ddr4) 

I was wondering how Intel were doing with their 5th gen chips and did a quick hunt on google.

I looks like we will see Broadwell come to market around Christmas time.

I'm actually going to try and hold off on a new build for at least 2 more years, However with 4k and 8k monitors coming out I might just get the urge one day to upgrade  my monitors and GPU

Has anyone seen Broadwell ?

It should have arrived by now, October / November we were told, I'm still not seeing it on any sites.
