My Print Screen on keyboard does not take a picture of the desktop as far I can tell. If it does I can't find the image :scratch-head: I thought I might need a program to use actually use the print screen. would you happen to know of the directory the images are supposedly save in?

I have Adobe CS5 Master suit on my laptop, plenty of programs in there to alter images. I just need the Image itself  :(

Once you press print screen the image is put onto the clipboard, all you then do is make a new file in your image program and paste.

Freddy

Yep and in PS you should have a handy - file->new image from clip board option.

cool beans, thanks a million
I tested by pasted into paint, worked like a charm.
maybe I'll have to finally install photoshop elements that came with my Wacom tablet. for it is smaller in size than photoshop cs5

Sorry freddy did not mean to hijack your thread

Freddy

No problem.  I use Elements a lot and it does everything I need.

btw, not sure if you are on Windows 7 or not but it has a handy 'Snipping Tool', which basically freezes the screen and then you can use the mouse to snip out whatever area you want and then save it directly, so no need for a graphics program.

yes I have windows 7 home premium 64bit, but I did not know of this snipping tool either.
Thanks Ted, I will have look into this
