Title: The end for Winamp
Post by: Freddy on November 27, 2013, 17:56:24 PM
I always liked Winamp, especially the visualisations which were very trippy. But it's closing down as AOL do not want to keep it going. So if you want a copy grab it quick...

The end of an icon, I started using winamp again a little while ago in win 8, then I had to revert to win 7 and haven't put it back since, will be a shame to see it go, it was good knowing it was there should you need it, and yes loved the visuals too.

Same for me. I've owned the Pro version since version 2, and have even gone so far as to create some of my own visualizations. Just grabbed the latest release. Maybe someone will step up and make an offer for the thing. That would be cool. :)

Oh, if you ever wanted to get either visualizations, skins or plugins for Winamp, this is probably the time. :P

Indeed. I used to make my own visualisations too. I forgot how long this program has been around, that was a long time back, my how time flys.

Good news - it looks like Winamp has been saved. The site has been revamped and it's available to download again  8)
