There are bio fuels in production now. The limiting factor of these is food production.

Found this vid on CO2 capture fuels and a way of financing CO2 storage technologies.

Carbon neutral fuel has to be better than burning oil in cars but won't it still pollute our towns and cities, surely something other than fresh air comes out the tailpipe ?

Powering cars with electricity has to be a cleaner option.

Unless big business can make a profit (some way) from carbon capture ... well, we might be doomed :sign-sad:

Still no electric aircraft. Making those carbon neutral would be a good step.

Also, boot strapping the tech to sequester carbon from the atmosphere is a good step forward.

I know you love your electric car but everyone having electric cars will not solve out fossil fuel dependency alone. A good step for many reasons but there are many other technologies that need to be developed.

I haven't got the figures to hand but I believe, globally, we are still producing more CO2 year on year.

I don't recall every saying it would Snowy but it will make a huge dent in our dependency, which is great  :)

Slightly off topic but for me it's also about pollution in our towns and cities, burning fuels to power vehicles is just wrong and becoming unnecessary in the 21st century.

EDIT:
But I do take your point about aircraft, if they can run them on carbon neutral fuel its got to help the CO2 stats  :)

Perhaps not yet, Snowy, but not from lack of trying. NASA's been working the challenge for a while now, and I think some good progress is being made:

Good video Dave, thanks for posting

I like the way electrification is making them look at aircraft efficiency, this might have a knock-on effect of making all aircraft more efficient, electric or other. Progress is happening  :)

Very interesting. Looks like it could be used for short journeys with small aircraft to get the tech out there.

Never say never.
