I was watching a program on TV about Richard Wilson and One foot in the grave, as a sitcom it has so many classic moments in and I like a good laugh. ;D
Anyway it gave me the idea to start a new topic of classic comedy moments, starting with this gem.
I've always loved this...movies not TV but still a classic bit of fun...
Yeah that's a classic moment there :D
This one reminds me of Christmas; here in the UK the Morecambe and Wise show was the highlight of Christmas TV ... was for me
What!
No one has done this clip. Would you like 4 candles, sir?
This one is not a classic yet. This was done this year on the 'One Ronnie' show and is an hommage to the 'Fork Handles' sketch above.
Enjoy...
Yeah that new one made me laugh :D
All good ... but when he booted the apple and it crashed :sign-lol:
Oh! and the eggs box 360
This one had me in stitches
I usually have a big problem with my bad English, but this one is uncredibily understandable.
Great!!! :flag:
Glad you thought it was ok GT.
The Reliant Robin, a not so Great British invention, but good for a laugh :D
Seeing that no one has posted here for awhile, I thought another Two Ronnies sketch may be in order (or maybe not).
If I may be forgiven for asking:
WTH was that? :D  :P :D :sign-lol: :mutley:
{we're sorry, but you've reached your daily limit for adding emoticons to your posts. Please post more tomorrow.}
Here's one that you may like:
Or, maybe not. :P
I liked that a lot as it had Peter Sellers in it 8)
Diesel, I can't say I've ever seen that two Ronnies sketch before, but I can guess why you posted it ;)
And Dave, HaHa, yeah that's funny
It's always the carpotata. :untrue:
I'll take your word for it Snowcrash but, it did sound more like a Giggling Pin adrift to me. :scratch-head:
First Class Freddy, can't quite remember if it's late 70's or early 80's good stuff though. Put's me in the mind for some Monty.
Sorry America, some more truly British humour.
I think it was the early 80's, the line I like best and is still one of my favourite comedy lines is when Gerald says 'Wild ? I was livid!'
I was thinking on Monty too. Monty did quite well in the US, so I think it will translate. :D
I dearly love the Flying Circus. :)
I was torn between playing this, or "The Knights who Say 'Ni'", but this edged out a little.
Classic sketch Dave, we used to quote that all the time
Here's possibly my most favourite comedy film, well part of it...
That reminds me a little of the Airplane clip that goes like this...
 Love that film too, so many moments to choose from.
From the sequel :
Freddy posted a Blackadder clip over on Ai Dreams, not to be out done. :sign-dito:
Haha great clip, Black Adder is still the best comedy series made imho
Decided to put this here instead of tagging it to Riots given I Ranted away on that.
Only Fools and Horses: The Truth Behind Trigger's Broom... (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pbha4XclSMU#)
I've just realised that not one Fawlty Towers clip has been posted, but which one to choose. I'm sure everyone has their favourite clip, this has to be mine. :sign-lol:
Fawlty Towers - Basil Beats Car (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=usmKc2JQzIM#)
Both excellent clips.
Very good :) I don't remember that broom one.
Hitting the car is my fav slapstick bit in Fawlty Towers too.
This is my fav language bit.
Funny! Basil gives Manuel a language lesson - Fawlty Towers - BBC (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H-oH-TELcLE#)
Love Fawlty Towers too, always a classic
Here's one that strikes me as amusing.
The truth about the Internet...
The IT Crowd - This, Jen, is the internet (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sDA1HUmuuJo#ws)
And this one...
IT Crowd - Vista means DEATH (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UC4vz6IbdtY#ws)
What operating system does it have?
Vista.
We are going to die! :mutley:

This is Dave's mom. I don't know what you people did to him, but he's just sitting here, shaking uncontrollably, with tears running down his cheeks. I think he's even wet himself. I've called the paramedics! You people are EVI... wait! he's... He's... LAUGHING?!?! ARGH, I hate this!
The IT Crowd is full of funny bits. You must see it if you like these.
I have put this on the front of a 'back-up' disc.
The IT Crowd - Series 2 - Episode 3: Piracy warning (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ALZZx1xmAzg#noexternalembed-ws)
Not really a clip as such but it has a lot of the best bits. It's the Ghostbusters trailer, I love seeing these again years later. This was 1984 :o I can smell the pop corn and the smokiness of my old local cinema just watching this.

Your comment was as funny as the vids Dave, thanks for that
@ Freddy, Ghostbusters was massive wasn't it, almost cult status, I loved all the gadgets in the film, oh and the car was great too, and the music thinking about it, good one
How about this one from Kenny Everet, probably for Brits only, no offence meant to the good old US of A.
Kenny is no longer with us but will never be forgotten by me.
General kenny Everett (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dMHDBL7CNA4#)
:o :sign-lol:
How could I possibly be offended with such genuine love and admiration, as witnessed by all the enthusiastic cheering? Not to mention those shoulderpads, replete with grenades (where can I get some?)! Long live the Good Ol' U.S. of A.!!! {cheering}
:P
{if you can't poke fun at yourself, then you should not poke fun at others} :)
Another joke made me think of this Slack Bladder clip.
Green Gold - Blackadder - BBC (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TkZFuKHXa7w#)
This thread wouldn't be complete without a bit of Benny Hill.
Benny Hill in New York Special - The Bar/End Credits (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mwt_zqKvMBk#)
Love that clip from Adder. There was a program on the other night all about it, made me want to buy the box set, you can get it on eBay for around £20, a bit less. I never really got Benny Hill but we used to watch it, my favourite is the running around
I just went on YouTube to find the Monty Python song Eric the Half a Bee. Was going to post that but this popped up which I had forgotten about, cracks me up still.
Monty Python's Military Fairy (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ol5Dfs7jqFI#ws)
Yeah that's a good one Freddy
How about the Fast Show, my favourite from it was the drunk family, they only did 5 sketches, here they are.
The Fast Show - I'm not pissed -1- Breakfast time (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EJ0M2f8jqag#)

Funnily enough, I've met the guy who plays the dad in a pub in Brighton. :party-time:
Not everyone's cup 'o' tea but did make me laugh. Here's some Hale and Pace for you.
Hale and Pace - Yorkshire Airlines (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rm6VC5gdaFA#)
Not seen that. I do like the beer tap and the 'Alan Bennet' class.
:woot:
I don't know if Family Guy fits in as classic just yet but I liked this :
popeye (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Er5ajZS-wZk#)
Not seen this for years, just thought I'd share. :D
Beer Darts-Not The Nine O'Clock News (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=clv0S--z4p0#)
I remember when that sketch was first shown. Still funny.
I've always liked their songs so thought I'd post this. Is it rude?
Not The Nine O'Clock News - Kinda Lingers (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hLgeiRO63mE#)
It's fairly rude :P
Here's one :
Rowan Atkinson Amazing Jesus (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fTzXJMU1sLc#)
I went looking for a vid of Freddie Starr, to me one of the funniest comedians. Found this one of Freddie Starr & Wayne Dobson at the Royal Variety Performance in 1989.
Freddie Starr & Wayne Dobson Royal Variety Performance 1989 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xB2zqkFtFNE#)
I used to love Freddie Starr's Mad House, I think that was what it was called.
The Day Today news spoof comedy has loads of clips to choose from but here is the weather...
The Day Today - weather with Sylvester Stuart (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=377aCGXmY9Q#)
I love the line ' the mist should hug the ground like an over affectionate but rather damp dog.'
Oh, and I found this music clip with Fur Q and Uzi Lover. I think all the swearing is cut but it is implied so..
Do not click if easily offended.
Uzi Lover (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1sxZ4tsp8gc#)
Note that all the characters are Chris Morris.
Not seen this clip for years, still makes me laugh the line, "and fetch Lady Hamilton one".
Russ Abbot in The Death Of Nelson (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sdnUAufJ24w#)
Not everyone's cup 'o' tea Russ Abbot, but he did do some good stuff now and then.
This is one of the funniest I've seen in a while.
Absolutely had me in stitches.
JESUS CHRIST IN RICHMOND PARK: ORIGINAL UPLOAD (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3GRSbr0EYYU#)
Hahaha
Ok, must be a British thing, because it just confused me. :-\
Is it something that can be explained? Or am I just out of luck here?
Did you have the sound on Dave?
Fenton Fenton FENTON FENTON JESUS CHRIST
Also bear in mind the deer are protected by law, absolutely no harassing them is allowed, they have priority over everything on that land.
But Fenton the dog doesn't know that.
Now that begins to make sense to me. Over here, there are no such "be nice to Bambi" laws, and I never saw the pooch... Just the deer, and some guy that seemed to be trying for a venison dinner the hard way. :)
I'll look the video over again, but I think it's probably in the category of "If I have to explain it, then it's just not funny" category. :P
Maybe it's a British thing, it's akin to stealing the Queens handbag.
The video has gone viral with almost 3 million views in under a month.
I watched it again, and while I certainly didn't lose control of certain bodily functions, I did get a small chuckle or two. :)
Maybe I just need more tea?
Definitely a British thing, knowing that poor Fenton was very likely to get the undivided attention of the Game Keepers anti dog spray, a 12 Bore. (Scatter Gun)
Anyway Dave, here's a classic case of how not to do it which, possibly, may help you with your Tea addiction. Wait a minute, isn't that a British thing ?. :P We'll make a Brit out of you yet. :sign-rockon:
Car Towing Fail (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w3ZCRiH_340#)
Handy if you have locked the key's in the boot/trunk.
Oh dear what a bunch of numpties
If it were me (or at least one person in the room had a brain cell) I would be digging some of that snow away from under the car first..
:P
Don't know if I should laugh or cry. :'(
I get the feeling the bumper isn't the place to attach the towrope either :scratch-head:.
I suggest you take another look Data, the bumper/fender is still attached to what it should have been. It's the "should have been" that's no longer attached to the car.
Fair enough, in that case the video is a perfect example of gaining accesses to the boot without damaging the lock. (top tip right there)
Haha good one Data :D
Just goes to show that stupidity is universal. I can't tell you how many times I've seen similar bouts of idiocy here. I've always felt that stupidity should be painful... And expensive. :D
Anyway, here's a wonderful example of international ignorance at work: (be sure to pay attention to the subtitles)
Insane bike test epic fail! (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wv4oLzN9Tns#ws)
This video was shown on the BBC news, it's had over 74 million views and is kinda cute.
Ultimate Dog Tease (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nGeKSiCQkPw#)
I've never seen that before, I think it's absolutely brilliant. :D
Seen it, but good to see again
[Ant Smasher] Pacman Frog catch some touch screen bugs. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LbNl3J8HXw4#)
Was watching the video, thinking, "Ok, cute, but hardly funny". About this time I take a sip of tea, and suddenly that tea has coated the keyboard, screen, and my lap!!! :innocent: :'(
That's ok, the keyboard needed cleaning anyway. :)
:D
Very amusing. I actually laughed out loud. Twice. Once for the game and again at the end.
Now this man could play the piano

Nigel Farage harangues EU President Herman van Rompuy (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bypLwI5AQvY#ws)
Great show. Unfortunately the concert hall seems quite empty. ;D
You are right GT, the EU doesn't want to hear the UK's point of view any more so they left the debate.
We now stand alone in the world and attempt to point out all the incredibly stupid things they try to do, like banning Sherbet Lemons.
Classic

Don't think we have had any from this classic yet :
Dr.Strangelove (1964) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3szooXjhEGI#)
I never seen that one Freddy. It Looks very interesting, I will have to add that to my list of movies to watch ;D
AAH Freddy, classic Peter Sellars. The man was a Comic Genius, many thanks for posting, maybe some Pink Panther later me thinks.
Yes I think this is Sellers at his finest, that bit where he loses control of his arm is so funnny
Syber, this is one to see...Sellers plus Stanley Kubrick - what a combination 8)
I think this is one of the best films ever made and shows just how powerful comedy can be when you want to say something serious.
Quotethat bit where he loses control of his arm is so funnny lol
That part is hard for me to understand, for never seeing the movie. I do not know if he was actually loosing control do to nerves, or so use to saluting for Hitler and just pretending to hide it as a habdycap :)
I think it's a bit of both :D I think he is a man trying to escape the past and get on the winning side - with a bit of craziness thrown in.
I think it's quite possibly a dig at the way all those German scientists came to America to carry on working on rockets and other ways to kill us all.
Excellent film. 'Easily calculated with a compuuuter'
How about this film noir classic?
Steve Martin in ( Dead Men Don't Wear Plaid) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5Du5NwvbH70#)
Great film, had almost forgotten about that one, must watch it again
Not exactly a classic, yet any way, but if you ever wondered how the Continents where formed or how Giraffes got their long knecks or how Foo, sorry, Soccer was invented, just watch this.

Not being PC there Dave, it's just, I'm told, if the F word is mentioned here by me, my welcome at Datahopa will expire and my subscriptions will not be refundable, hence Soccer. As I have only been chastised once for calling it Soccer, see above, maybe that will suffice, for now.
BTW, I can't stand the God forsaken, wossy and over paid game.

Shark repellant Bat-spray (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XJlHjf_E--4#ws)
Don't think this is a classic, yet, but it should be.
Simon's Cat in "Cat and Mouse" (Disney Favorite) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EBFxSTElKBU#ws)
Haha I love those - I see their is an advert running on TV at the moment with this cat too.
Not currently happy with cats of any stripe or spot today. My cat, Kitty, seems to have decided that she's upset with me for moving back into my room, and peed all over not only the bed, but my laptop, the small pillow that supports my bad arm when I sleep, and, since I didn't notice it till I actually laid down, the shirt I had just put on only an hour before, too. >.<
Ok, maybe I can't blame her for the shirt, but still, when I catch that monster, she's spending a few days outside!
Dave mate, I feel for you. I have people living in this house who did similar things when they were little. Do you think I should treat them the same, ie, kick them out. :P
By now they're old enough that if they repeat those performances now, I'd say that you were not only well within your rights to do so, but also that nobody would fault you for "shaming" them, as well! You know, make up a sign that reads, "Not only do I leach off me Mum & Dad, but I just piddled all over the furniture!", then take pictures of them with that sign while they sleep, and post them on the internet where all their friends will see it.
THAT'LL teach 'em! >:D
:o Dave I now know why at least part of your day was bad...Sorry hope you did not hurt yourself from jumping once you felt the wetness, also hope the laptop survived.
Quotemake up a sign that reads, "Not only do I leach off me Mum & Dad, but I just piddled all over the furniture!", then take pictures of them with that sign while they sleep, and post them on the internet where all their friends will see it.
too funny lol, that would be a priceless moment once they checked there facebook page :)
That's kind of the idea. The practice of "shunning", of which Shaming is a type of offshoot, was once a very popular, not to mention effective, form of "social stigma discipline" that would make it very difficult for the offending party to get along for a time (even for their entire lives, if the crime was severe enough) because nobody would even so much as talk to the afflicted party. Anyone caught doing so was similarly treated. It made a VERY effective deterrent, especially in smaller communities, because if you were shunned for TOO long, you stood a REALLY good chance of dying.
Dave my friend, I consider you a Wise Old Owl and hold your knowledge and wisdom in high esteem.
Now you may consider the UK to be a "Small Community" compared to where you reside, but, even here, we have rules and regulations that govern our very being. Murder and Man Slaughter, Accidental or otherwise, are frowned upon here.
I do like your idea though, but the overall outcome may be seen as a little Harsh by some, therefore, I feel I should place this advise On The Back Burner for now.
Maybe I should just wait until the little darlings have their own habitats and simply return the privilege.
Thanks for your input though.
Some towns here still have stocks...I don't recall anyone saying we cannot still use them ;)
Rottingdean (a suburb of Brighton) has a 'whipping post lane'. No longer a whipping post there though.
Just down the road (200 yards) from Rudyard Kipling's old abode. He wrote "The Jungle Book".
Though I suspect you have them in the UK, here across the pond, many places have the "Woodshed" or "Woodpile" behind which, in days gone by, one could actually be introduced to the "Board of Education", as it were! Ooouchhh!!
Safe, effective, no inherent side effects and any associated pain usually wore off within a brief period of time. Hopefully, while there, some valuable lessons were imparted and hopefully learned by the recipient.
Can't do that in most places any longer due to the "emotional stress" and "emotional scaring" it causes. A likely story!
I've personally been taken out "to the woodshed" many a time, in a very literal sense. Couldn't go "behind" the woodshed, because that's where the creek was. Ah, memories! :P
Does anyone remember this, would probably have to be from the UK, its a bit childish but somehow its funny, two old me acting like that.

That's bad in American, worse in English.
Very funny either way.
I saw this when it was originally aired, made me laugh. I remembered it today for some reason and found it on Youtube. I like this show and I like that they leave in things like this. Some times I think they add questions just to make him go to pieces ;D
HeHe, I like The Chase and saw that one on TV, totally cracked me up too .
Oddly Freddy it was on as a repeat recently, a few days ago I think.
Yeah I agree some of the questions they give him to read out, made on purpose to get him.
Very good that.

Quote‘like, really smart’ and a ‘very stable genius’ .

QuoteHis over confidence...
Yes, that's what made it even funnier for me
I don't remember that Star Trek one ;D

I don't remember that Star Trek one ;D
That was relatively early on in the series, probably season 2, and the first contact with the Pakled. I know several people who consider that episode of STNG to be rather racist. I don't agree, but... :)
Thanks for the info Dave.
Anyone care to learn some disco moves ?

So THAT'S where he learned it!

I used to hate Quagmire when I first saw the show, but now he's one of my favourites
I'm not sure how well this will translate over the pond, but this had me in stitches...

Bradley is the best quiz show host without question :D
Not sure what a "minge" is, but from the reaction of both the host and the audience, I can probably guess.
We had a similar game show here in the states (don't remember the name) that featured that same rather large man as an "expert" in all subjects. I don't remember his name, but he was called "The Beast" on the show, and is clearly an extremely intelligent person with a frighteningly large repertoire of trivia under his belt. Now I think about it, I think the game show was called "The Chase". I'll have to verify that, though.
[edit]
Yup! I was right, and it seems to have copied an earlier UK game show of the same name. Well done for such an entertaining quiz show, and even more well done that you lot let us nick the idea, and swipe a chaser. :D
[/edit]
I never thought I would say this but - you're not wrong about minge Dave
Yes - The Chase - I do see clips of the US version on YT and I think other countries have it too now. It's my favourite quiz show as I like how quick it is - no procrastinating about answers like a lot shows.
I like that the US and UK nick ideas off of each other  ;D
Surely they realised at some stage how cheesy this all was...

I admit that was funnier than I was expecting
I thought that much of the time the "move" seemed a bit forced, or at least contrived. It was almost as if they were going for a "60's Batman" sort of camp, but just barely missed the mark. but that's just me, I think. :)
This had me in stiches last night, can only find a video of the second half but funny all the same.

I was looking for "alternative lorem ipsum" generators online when I found the following. I haven't seen this in years, so I thought I'd share.

I must buy The Day Today box-set some time.
Brian Blessed is a National Treasure here and a very interesting man. He's a keen mountaineer and here's one of his stories. US folk may remember him from the movie Flash Gordon.
