That is geogeous.

I want the software that generates it.

Best fractal I've seen in ages.

That was neat in fullscreen

As I watched the video (Data's right... MUCH cooler in full screen mode!), several thoughts hit me at different times:

1.) I wonder if the universe, with all of it's myriad stars, nebulae, galaxies and galaxy clusters, is laid out in some sort of 3D fractal lattice. String theory just popped into my mind, presumably just to mess with my psyche.

2.) At several points in the video, I more than half expected the camera to zoom in on a random bit of structure, and treating us to a view of some minuscule D&D/Final Fantasy characters, battling it out with some outrageously huge/tiny monster.

3.) Just as I was thinking about the fantasy adventurers (around 1:53), here came, seemingly leaping out of the very structure of the object, a huge face that was reminiscent of the very monster I had envisioned but a brief moment before, which lead me to think, "I REALLY need to lay off the mind altering drugs!" :D

1) Yes, the universe is fractal. It's generally laid out in a bubble latice laid over a hyperbolic parabaloid (sadle shape).

2) That's just your psyche, deal with it.

3) I see a face in the center, slightly to the right at 1:53. This is pareidolia and human brains are hard wired for it. Many people see it without the use of drugs, so keep taking them

This is a cool piece of software. Thank you Freddy.

I just rendering the examples and it's using all my 4 cores to max for several mins for 1 pic.  ;D

Wow, Really Snowy? Which example did you render that took so long? So far, every image I've rendered has taken under a minute. Of course, I've not yet figured out how everything works, so most of what I've rendered has been fairly simple, and I haven't tried all of the examples yet. I'm still finding some amazing images, though. :)

Multi core support, impressive, does it use the GPU as well? That would be perfection :P

DaveMorton

The program is utterly amazing, but it has more settings than there are fleas at the dog pound. It's a bit to take in, all at once. :)

Oh good nice to see you guys getting creative, post some up on YouTube so we can all have a gander  8)

As soon as I can wring some coherence from the animation, I certainly will. Right now what I've got is a series of "jumps" to different locations, and it looks bad (as an animation... the individual images look fine). :)

The 'FractalCubistCheese' pic I've posted took about 3-4 mins.

Once you've found one you like, try upping the res in the 'Image' tab.

I take off the 'depth of field' setting in the 'Post Effects' tab most of the time.

Not tried any animation yet.

I'm somewhat contending with some C2D problems with the app right now that I haven't got sorted out quite yet, so I'm not having a lot of luck making anything to show, but have a look at this thread over at VHF. Mikmoth is doing some stellar things with the program! :)

(I'm seriously jealous!)
