It is with a very heavy heart that I must bid a very fond farewell to Sir Patrick Moore.  :'(

I grew up watching the Sky At Night if I was allowed to stay up that late. Another Great British Character gone never to be replaced.
It WILL be fine !...

I watched the Sky At Night a couple of days ago and will continue to if the BBC carry on making them, somehow it's not going to be the same without Patrick.

Patrick has been an inspiration to many, including me and Mrs Data, we are going to miss him greatly.

RIP Sir Patrick

Freddy

Oh no, that's sad, RIP Sir Patrick  :(

Snowcrash

He's was an institution. A sad day indeed.

The last I watched Sky At Night (nov) he didn't say much and it did look like he was nodding off.

RIP sir.

Found this among the many, it sort of sums up the old guy.

A great character, a bit of an oddball but above all else a very, very intelligent man and a big loss to the scientific community.

Did you know he missed just one episode of the Sky At Night in 55 years (since 1957), and that was due to a bout of food poisoning......now that is dedication!!

RIP to a great man who brought scince into the living rooms of the nation and made it not just understanable but enjoyable too

edit Did a slight correction, you were 2 years out. Snowcrash edit

I do believe he holds the record of longest standing presenter of the same program.
