I heard about this at work today and thought I would share it with you all. As most of you know, I play with these Big Boy Toys myself and when I saw this, I wondered what the phone call to the office was like.  :-[ :sign-oops: :booboo: :sign-help: :innocent:

I have to give him credit, he was very fast in getting out of his truck.
maybe a little to fast makes me think :scratch-head: was this staged event, maybe an insurance scam?? with the other truck cabled so far away. Is this distance normal/common practice for towing these big boy toys Diesel??

Diesel

What you can see here is Complacency in it's purest form. All good fun until it goes WRONG.  :'( Ordinarily, a Tow Bar should be used every time for Towing purposes, allowing for greater control. In this instance, the Winch Wire is being used, hence the distance between the Casualty and Tow Truck.

Personally, I would have used a Twin Drive unit, ploughed the road with the Stiff Legs and DEFINITELY towed the casualty ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE ROAD away from the edge.

As for the guy jumping out so quick, so would I. If the machine wishes to hurt itself, it can do it without me on board.  ;D

Thanks Diesel, for your wisdom.

what and miss the great roller-coaster ride  only joking, I would of bailed out as quick as well.

I have no idea if this is real or not, you decide. I just thought it was pretty cool either way.

Hi Diesel,

No, this musical set of instruments are only digital.  A couple of guys created "Animusic" which basically takes MIDI files and applies them to the instruments.  The computer has to calculate backwards for each one as to when to start rendering it's part.  They tell all about how they do it and that they are working on the third DVD even now.

It's cool though, I'd have fun with it if I had the time.  :)

That has got to be one of the all time best 3D animation renderings I've ever seen! WAY cool find, Diesel!

Animation, I think not, with the skills available on this Forum, we could build one of those.

Syber and I could easily work out the mechanics required, Snowy could do the mathematics, schematics and any Physics involved, Data and Dave can write the Code needed to run the thing, Oh and build the Computer, Carl2 can make a Video, Dusky can pretty the thing up and GT40 can do a sexy French voice over, with a bit of luck, Freddy and DD1975 can finance the project through advertising and sponsorship.

Sorted, when do we start.  8)

I ran across a similar video some years ago, by the same artist. It is a amazing piece of work.
That would be fun to build, I could probably even get a bunch load of golf balls that we would be able to use  :)

Diesel

No takers then, Oh well, I'll just have to tap my mate up for an old jet engine that we can tie down in the boot of Data's Rover. After all, that little car can tow a Space Shuttle.

Sainsbury's here we come.

LOL Diesel , sounds good to me, though it might melt the tarmac but that's a small price to pay.

Freddy

Seen this before but very nice to see it again, fantastic animation.  Sorry Diesel  no adverts would cover the cost of building one ;)
