Smoke me a Kipper I'll be back for breakfast - Ace Rimmer

Snowcrash

They could make it really safe and have all the drivers in VR headsets.

Or just ruin it by having rubbish tyres.

I'm genuinely interested in this I have to say, it has real potential.

As they used to say in the states, "win on Sunday, sell on monday" if the series is properly marketed, proves good to watch and it is televised to the widest possible audience it could well be a game changer for the electric car market.

I've heard that at race pace they don't hold enough charge so they swap cars at the pit stop. Each team needs 2 cars per driver.
But hey, you have to start somewhere.

Well, swapping cars is far faster than swapping batteries (a concern that I had, actually). :)

Add to that the health and safety concerns of a driver getting out the car during a race.

And about the noise, every car must create it with onboard speakers? :o

Is the pit crew any less important than the driver? I think not. :P

Still, the logistics involved with swapping out cars is a bit of a challenge. What about special trolleys that come out with the pit crew,  and just as quickly as changing tyres, can change the batteries. Of course we would then have the logistical nightmare of working out some quick release trays for the batteries that keep them inside the car while racing and during all wrecks, yet allow them to be changed quickly as needed. But that's more engineering than logistics, so... :)
