No news yet on what went wrong but I hear it was an old mothballed rocket that had been refurbished. BABlog has a article here.

I had read about this last night. How sad. One of the payloads on that rocket was the Arkyd 3 Space Telescope by Planetary Resources (that company had a kickstarter that I had donated to), but they're planning to keep at it.
