"I'm installing Daz Studio atm to see what these 6 cores can do"
So it looks like Freddy has a hex going for him, well good luck with it.

Thanks Carl. It's very fast, I have it overclocked to 4GHz - this is the first time I have tried overclocking and so far it's very good. I had to get a cooler because these chips do not come with a stock fan like the older Intels - so I went for liquid cooling. I can see what all the fuss was about now.

Sounds really great Freddy,  liquid cooled should keep some of the dust out.  It should be useful when working with Daz and some of the other
software.  I compared Haptek to Daz and feel Haptek is pretty advanced, it would take a lot of work to get daz to that level but the collision detection is there so you'd have a great character.
I'm wondering if the monitor would tell you what's wrong when trying to use the fleshy Haptek characters in win 10.

Bit of a stab in the dark but we know Haptek is only happy on one CPU core.
I haven't used the fleshy character so don't know how it works but it must have some kind of physics engine running for the "bounce", maybe there is a way to set the affinity to one core for the physics.

Carl2

Data, yes there is a physics hap and you can have that handled by the GPU or the CPU, there is also a car program that can enable only one processor to handle Haptek which allows the haptek player to run smoothly.  In the past, win 7 the fleshy characters would have problems when audio was present,  in fact a new character was introduced without the physics.    I believe when the hap player is started from Hal it is set to one process automatically.
I also came across some 3 D glasses that I want to try sometime when there is time.

What sort of 3D glasses Carl ?

I got some blue-red ones a few months back, there's a lot of cool images and videos on the net.

I was reading that MS Hololens is a long way off still, so that's disappointing, I was hoping to see it soon after Windows 10 was released, I thought that had been the plan.
