Another more in-depth look at the changes Windows 11 brings.

Noticed that the Compatibility Check is back online.

Scroll to the bottom.

I need to turn secure boot on somehow - otherwise everything passed.

Well spotted Freddy

I downloaded the new version and passed the test.

You should be able to enable secure boot in the boot options in BIOS, hopefully windows will start as normal.  :fingers-crossed:

Freddy

Yes I did have a quick look. Busy at the moment though

I'm going to wait till the Oct fifth deadline the TPM is working but I also have to enable secure boot.  I guess we no longer will have passwords and I wonder how that works.  Speech recognition has come a long way and it would be nice if we could use that and also there is Alexa that could improve things, I wonder how many years it will take before that will be used.

I haven't been using passwords with Windows 10 since its release, no big deal and Windows boots quicker.

Freddy

MS already tried speech recognition with Cortana. I never used her, it was just a novelty to me.

Carl2

Most of my pass words are stored in in the computer but I do keep records of the passwords in notepad.

I just found a Bootable USB drive with win 11 on it, since it saves me from trying to get through Microsoft i bought it.  Really so tired of the problems I had trying to get it from the Microsoft account it is worth it to me   Windows 11 OS install /Bootable 16GB USB Drive for Legacy & UEFI Compatible   $38.22.  So having a problem throw money at it, something people would say about the US  spending  money to solve a problem.

I would have thought installing windows from a USB flash drive would require an activation key code to be purchased at some point.

Where as doing the upgrade would transfer your windows key from 10 to 11.

Might have to throw more money at it.

Carl2

I've looked in the computer for the  activation key code but haven't been able to find one.  I would think the bootable drive would behave similar to the Microsoft download software and do the same transfer from 10 to 11.  The product is guaranteed insured for a year, I had just read online that a lot of people are unhappy with the Microsoft experience as I am.   Maybe in 3 or 4 months time the traffic at Microsoft will settle down and things will work better but for now I want to avoid dealing with Microsoft.  I feel like I got scammed by Restro and I'm going to ask the bank not to pay them.
