I noticed that the forums seem to be a bit on the slow side, so I thought I'd let you all know what's going on with me. Sadly, though, there's really nothing to tell, so how about an infantile video, instead?

Thanks Dave, that was a good chuckle

It was my pleasure to help bring a bit of humor into all our lives. :)

Absolutely great to see you up and about Dave, your one tough old Bird. It's clearly evident you got busted up real bad just glad to see you made it.  :D Now I'm not a religous person but, this time, I do Thank God.
It WILL be fine !...

Snowcrash

I think I have friends who've had your injuries but like 5 people. Meaning you have 5 peoples worth of injuries.
ACL is a bastard on its own. Let alone the rest. That's the front tendon if my memory serves.

Good to see you up and about. Take it easy and 1 step at a time. Wishing you all the best.

The first thing I noticed was the loss of weight Dave, you can tell just by looking at you that you have had a hard time.

I think we all knew that you were in a bad way but we didn't quite know just how bad, the video really brings that home.

On the up side, its good to see you my friend :) and over time I reckon you will recover to almost 100%, maybe to 95% with a few little aches and pains, you might have to give up running the marathons  ;)

And didn't the doctors do well, they get a thumbs up from me and thanks for mending our buddy

Now plenty of rest and good food has to be the order of the day.

All the best to you Dave and thanks for making the video.

Freddy

Dave you poor guy I don't know what to say to be honest, just that you look after your self and don't worry about things until you are all well and healed up.  WE've met a great friend in you and I am really glad we did not lose you but it pains me to see you like this.  You take good care of yourself now and I hope the aches and pains begin to ease themselves.  It sounds like you have some great doctors and nurses looking after you there.

Peace :)

Thanks for the update, Dave. I think your unfortunate incident also serves as a constant reminder of how very frail and valuable life actually is! We all must not take anything for granted, especially our health.

We are given one day at a time and yet, tomorrow is promised to no one.

Keeping you in my thoughts, my friend and wishing you all the best!

sorry I have not been on for a couple days, and did not see this update till today. Thanks for the video update Dave  I knew you was banged up pretty bad, but I did not think it was that severe. You are one lucky guy, Thank God :)

You got a lot of healing to do, take your time so heal up good and well. Data gave some excellent advise about eating good food, I saw you with a can of what looked like soda......fruit juice would be a lot better for ya  atm Hint Hint  ;)

Great to know your healing and getting better, But at the same time Sorry to see your in much pain. I hope it eases up soon for ya.

If there is anything I can do for ya, please feel free to let me know.

DaveMorton

Thanks, Syber. Yeah, I know the soda (it WAS a diet, though) wasn't the wisest choice, but I try really hard to limit them to 3-4 per week. I'm getting to where I can stand up more and more, and I expect to be walking in fairly short order. The arms are still holding me back, but I don't want to cause any permanent damage, so I'm not pushing them all that hard. :)

I remember being bed bound for 9 months, after my car crash. I looked like Olive Oyl from the cartoon Popeye. It was a long and painful recovery I had to constant remind myself that it will okay to keep my faith and keep me striving forward. A few Mantra's assisted me with that, Maybe one or more can assist you also.

The Doc said I would not be able to walk without assistance, So my first Mantra was "I'ma prove that Doctor wrong"

DaveMorton

Yeah, it's been quite distressing to see how much my muscles have atrophied since the accident. But I know it'll all come back, eventually. It's just a matter of time. :)

I took several unaided steps yesterday! :D Granted, they were only about 6 inches each, and there were only 4 of them, but I count that as SOLID progress! WOOT!!!
