Snowcrash

The Perseid meteor shower with be on the 12-13th August this year.

Estimates are about 60 per hour.

Get to the darkest skies you can and for best viewing I recommend a sun lounger, a pillow and a towel (the dew can be a problem).

Happy sky watching...

Just a reminder that it's this thur/fri to keep your eyes skyward.

Here's hoping for clear skies.

Thanks for the heads up, at the moment we have cloud above us, will it clear by tonight, hmm, hope so would like to see it in action.

Snowcrash

Was clear from 10:30 'til about 11:30 when I went home.

I saw about 10 with 3 of 'em good smoke trails. Judging by the 'ooo's and 'ahhh's I missed about 10 as well. Was supposed to be 60 per hour at peak, more like 20 I rekon.

It's raining at the mo. but tonight (fri) should be good too.

Freddy

I was going to take a look last night (Friday) but it was chucking it down and I the sky would have been just cloud.  Is it worth looking tonight (Saturday) ?

Data

According to Snowcrash, recently spoke to him, you will still see them for about another week or so.

Freddy

Excellent. I will try again then !  Thanks  :D

Thursday night was the peak so be patient.

Persius is a constellation below casiopia (the W) north east ish so they radiate from there.

Found this video. What can I say?

Thanks for putting that in Snowcrash, very nice film.  Wish I could put in those effects in movies I made with my camera.

What you need is 3DS MAX and a couple of spare years to learn it.

Excellent prog. if a little expensive.
