Freddy

Yeah I get that sometimes with songs. Some songs I have been hearing the lyrics wrong for years as well I discover.

I was listening to XTC the other day, this one.

Freddy

OK so I think it's finally summer, so my offering for good summer feel good music is...

Snowcrash

Cool choon. And their new-ish one.

Best I can find. YT doesn't appear to have the single.
"I cannot remember the books I've read any more than the meals I have eaten; even so, they have made me."

Ralph Waldo Emerson

Freddy

Not bad, could be a grower.

How about this one...also due to the fact they are making a follow up film to be released next year.

Data

Born Slippy, that is one heavy tune, has to be in the top 5 of all-time heavy songs

Around the same time there was this, nice piano, among other things  :D

Freddy

Yes in truth I can't listen to the full nearly ten minutes of Born Slippy, I mainly like the beginning part.

Nice piano in that one you posted I agree. Was some good dance tunes around then.

Snowcrash

I'm going back to the 80s and XTC with my other favourite (inc the last 2)

"I cannot remember the books I've read any more than the meals I have eaten; even so, they have made me."

Great song, amazing how long ago that was. They had an album called Oranges & Lemons which I remember from when I first lived in London.

Freddy

Don't know if anyone else likes Jimi, but this is one of my favourite songs and a good summer tune I think. Just don't go on holiday by mistake ! Points for the reference I just made and the link to this song. :D

Data

Didn't exactly get in to Hendrix, do like some of his tunes.
Your puzzle however has got me  :scratch-head:

While I'm here, I stumbled across this, ok I admit it, I like Ribena  :D

Freddy

QuoteYour puzzle however has got me

It was a bit obscure in truth. It's a quote from the film Withnail & I with Richard E. Grant and Paul McGann. There is a funny encounter where Withnail (Grant) declares that they have come on holiday by mistake. The link is that when they start their holiday they career out of London on the motorway blaring All Along The Watch Tower out of their clapped out Jag.

I've moved from Ribena to Vimto  :D

Bit of Blur anyone ?

On to the heavy stuff a ?

Here's a tune that sounds better in the summer time, I think.

Freddy

I like that song too.

Here's one for a Summer evening.

Freddy

Data, Day Dream In Blue reminded me of this track...

Data

Yes those two tracks are very similar aren't they, as well as the same bass lines they both have the fake record crackles and pops. Some nice guitar work in Fade Into You I thought too.

Here is a good vid I came across the other day, I like Ultravox and the video goes well with the tune.
